When you generate a new world in Minecraft and start playing in singleplayer mode or on a server, the first problem any player faces is the lack of food. Indeed, it is not always possible to catch and slaughter a pig, sheep, or chicken, and it is difficult to find an inhabited village with beds in the first stages. However, the game has zombies, creepers, skeletons, and other mobs that appear at night in all corners of the game world, and it would be cool if, after killing such creatures, you could also get meat, right? This is where a mod called Insatiable comes to the rescue, changing the mechanics of the mob drops and finding provisions.
The main idea behind the Insatiable mod is to add more food sources to Minecraft. You will mainly get food from different mobs that dropped other resources by default. The basic piece of meat is called the game meat and has specific properties that you need to know about before using this resource. It is it that will allow any of you to restore hunger faster and get more chances to survive.
The mod adds a new type of provision called the game meat, which will be dropped by many standard Minecraft mobs. So while previously you had to look only for pigs, sheep, or other animals, now it will be possible to kill zombies, skeletons, creepers, and other mobs to get the game meat. This resource will not only saturate the players but also allow you to put your inventory in order. Indeed, it earlier contained different types of meat, and each type of food occupied a particular slot, but now it will be enough to collect only the game meat, and it will occupy just one slot. Besides, you will be able to stack 64 of them, which is very convenient.
As the designers claim, they have made this add-on so that collecting food would not be as tedious as it was in the vanilla game version. What is most interesting is that it can work with other mods that add animals. The latter will also drop meat, and you will be able to use it as food. In terms of saturation, the new food type is close to fish or rabbits, and that is enough to satiate your character. However, you should be careful, as it is not recommended to eat it raw.
Note! The game meat in Minecraft should only be used in cooked form since the raw meat will impose the Mining Fatigue effect on the character, thereby reducing productivity when extracting different types of resources.
To preserve the significance of the standard types of meat, such as pork or steak, the modders have deliberately reduced the saturation level of the game meat. However, if you wish, you will be able to add wheat and carrots to it and make a delicious meat pie that will satiate you better. It is already a more advanced dish that you can take with you on a long journey without having to worry that, at one moment, you will still be hungry. At the moment, this mod works with such add-ons as Quark, Alex's Mobs, and Neapolitan.
You will be able to stack 64 meat pies, and that is enough to spend long hours in a particular biome or another dimension. We recommend cooking the pies as soon as you get all the necessary ingredients for this, as such an amount will certainly be enough for you to survive a long journey. The designers have also added cookable raw light meat dropped by amphibians, reptiles, and water mobs in one of the mod's versions. So if you find yourself in an aquatic biome, you will easily be able to find food for yourself. However, you should take cobblestones or a furnace with you to quickly burn the meat.
In one version, the developers have even added the bug guts and a special type of cookie cooked from these remains. You will also need the spider eyes, but it is not recommended to eat these cookies during the day. However, at night, they restore way more hunger points than the standard steaks in Minecraft, which will be a significant advantage for you. Be sure to try it if you want to fully appreciate the atmosphere of this mod and cook all kinds of dishes it features.
As you can see, the mechanics of the Insatiable mod are simple and clear. Any of you will now be able to quickly restore satiety in the game, an additional source of food will appear, and all the loot dropped by mobs will no longer be as useless as before. Besides, mob farmers will get a big advantage since, in addition to various standard resources, they will get meat pieces in large quantities. On a server, you will be able to sell them to other players, use them during your hikes, or feed the dogs without having to worry about the lack of food. So be sure to install this mod, try all its features, and leave your feedback about it so that other users on the website can understand whether it is worth using it in their builds or not.
