Review Hostile Villages[ForgeFabric]

Hostile Villages in the Game

The Minecraft game world is populated by various mobs, both hostile and neutral, such as civilians who don’t attack the player and don’t particularly approach him, although they can sell various goods if necessary. Usually, users try to immediately find such settlements at the start of any survival to get the first seeds, food, and start trading with civilians. However, their behavior is standard. Another thing is hostile villages that have already been captured by robbers. You will be right if you say that there is no such thing in the vanilla version of the game, however, such functions have been added by the Hostile Villages add-on, which was designed to diversify the game world.

The Hostile Villages mod adds new types of villages to the game, which are inhabited mainly by bandits, creepers, skeletons, and other types of hostile mobs. You will hardly see any civilians here, although the village structure is similar to those generated for NPCs from the vanilla world. Moreover, any user can configure the loot type that will spawn in these locations, the number of mobs that there will be here, and many other important parameters in the mod settings. With such add-ons, you can diversify the gameplay in a couple of clicks and add something new to the vanilla survival of the players.

When you were surviving in a regular vanilla world, you could find any civilian village and immediately settle there, take some resources, feel free to spend time and hide, but after installing the Hostile Villages mod, this is no longer possible, because it is initially unclear whether the local mobs are hostile or friendly. The captured villages will spawn all over the map and will be dominated by a certain number of bandits, zombies, creepers and other mobs, who impose an additional danger on the player. On the other hand, PvP and PvE fans will always find something interesting here, as they will be able to fight in more battles and just enjoy the new gameplay.

The Hostile Villages add-on replaces most of the civilian villages, so it’s more difficult for players to meet NPCs now to start trading with them. You’ll have to recapture villages from bandits, kill hostile mobs and populate civilians hereto restore the normal spawn of these creatures and only then you can trade and exchange goods with them or assign them different professions. This is an exciting process for any player who loves adventures and constant battles with mobs in Minecraft. With Hostile Villages, you can significantly diversify and improve the standard gameplay.

There will be many additional loot chests in robbers’ villages, so each player will be motivated to visit such locations and kill all hostile mobs to clear the settlement of evil creatures and populate it with civilians. Exploration of such locations will always attract the players’ attention, because here you can get additional loot, which is a great advantage of the Hostile Villages mod. In the screenshots, you can see what villages look like in this mod, although they look very similar to standard settlements. However, the number of hostile mobs is really «way too much» here.

Another obvious advantage of this mod is the opportunity to fine-tune all mobs and loot in each village, which appears after installing the Hostile Villages mod. For example, you will get the opportunity to change the default number of mobs, set certain values for creepers, robbers, add better loot and so on. This allows you to choose your own spawn for villages, mob populations, and other important parameters to fine-tune the game complexity and create villages suitable for every player in the game world. Moreover, the features of this mod will be useful not only for single-player mode, but also for playing in the Minecraft multiplayer mode.

The chests with loot can contain really rich and significant rewards for players that can be used for development in the future. Indeed, this encourages users to interact with civilian villages more often, search for certain locations, explore the game world, and so on. We suggest using the Hostile Villages mod to transform the cubic world and add something new to this dimension. From now on, not only peaceful villages will appear here, but hostile ones as well, and players won’t be able to understand who exactly lives here until they approach the settlement.

Robbers now appear in the game world by times more often, but it will be more difficult to get the «Village Hero» effect because there aren’t so many settlements left, which hostile mobs can attack. They are already taken by bandits by default, so there will be no raids and wars here. But the player can kill all the mobs in the village (bandits, creepers, skeletons) if he wants to clear the village of hostile creatures and populate the location with civilians. Be sure to try playing with Hostile Villages and write in the comments if you liked this gameplay or it turned out to be too difficult to survive…
