Review Horarium

Which decorative elements do you like the most in the game? For example, it can be a glowing item frame or a lamp, paintings, shulker boxes of different colors. In vanilla Minecraft, there is not such a large selection of elements as in third-party mods. And when there is such a variety in front of you, it is hard to decide what exactly to install, which decorative items to use in the game, and what their main advantages and features are. But in this material, we will tell you about one unique and cool item that is used not only for decoration, but also as a functional element. And for some players, it will definitely be useful!

The Horarium modification adds an hourglass to the game, with the help of which you can track time and set timers. Not the most important, but an interesting item for the game, performing two purposes at once: decorative and functional. The developer has drawn the texture as high-quality as possible visually, so there is no point in arguing here – the hourglass turned out to be beautiful and unusual. And if you lack new decorative items, but you do not want to install large global mods for this, we recommend trying to play with this expansion. No load on your PC, availability for different versions of the game, well-thought-out functionality. What else do players need? Take a look at the screenshots we have posted to evaluate the appearance of the new item.

The hourglass can be created only in one color variant, and dyes cannot be used to change its appearance. One would like to see more options, but the developer has not added anything like that yet! Crafting is done from copper, and this is another item in Minecraft for which this material can be used. But oxidation does not occur, so the appearance will not change. It looks beautiful and unusual, although the element itself is not small. For example, when the player holds the hourglass in their hands, it seems completely miniature, but after being placed on any block, it immediately increases in size.

This item can be used both for decorative purposes and as a functional element. For example, you can place the hourglass simply as a decoration on a shelf or any other block to emphasize the overall style and highlight certain effects or rooms. At the same time, it has two display variants: with sand and without it. If the player right-clicks on the hourglass and puts sand blocks into it, the system automatically changes the texture, and you will see microscopic particles falling inside the glass item. One block falls every second, so in total you can set a timer up to 64 seconds if you have standard vanilla stacks in the game.

As soon as the sand inside runs out, the texture will change: there will be sand at the bottom and an empty area at the top. As you can see, this is a fully dynamic item, used both for decoration and for functionality. For example, you can arrange various competitions in the game using such timers, add hoppers for automatic sand supply: it is enough to connect the item and get full functionality with automation. A maximally simple but universal connection system that works in the vanilla version of the game. Look at the screenshots if it is not clear by what principle this add-on works, and everything will immediately become clear!

Only sand can be used inside the hourglass, both regular and red sand. However, visually you will not distinguish them when looking at the item: here the developer decided not to change anything and not to complicate the mod creation process. The result is a quite good add-on option for Minecraft that allows you to further decorate the interior of your house or castle while adding a small amount of functionality. Players will finally be able to use copper more often for crafting, although the hourglass will not change color and will not be subject to the oxidation process (many third-party mod developers try to add this effect if something is made from copper).

You can track the amount of sand in the GUI interface by right-clicking on the hourglass. In real time, every second the system moves blocks from the upper slot to the lower one, and this process is irreversible! You cannot flip the hourglass, and it will always be placed on the block in the same position. However, visually you will see even without the GUI interface how the sand particles move from the upper position to the lower one, and for this the developer of the Horarium mod really deserves respect, as they put so much effort into making a simple but important item. Try playing with this mod and be sure to write in the comments what purposes you use the hourglass for, what you connect to it from logic circuits and redstone, and whether you liked the appearance of the item and the animation.
