High-Speed Rail: Fast Minecarts for Minecraft

Do you often ride minecarts in Minecraft? Many players consider them too slow, although most vanilla-style servers resort to this transport type in the Nether to move faster through it and then teleport to the Overworld via portals. However, on the surface, they move too slowly, and it is more reasonable to use boats on the water, elytra, and even animals. If you suffer from this issue, we recommend you install a mod called High-Speed Rail that will allow you to increase the speed of the in-game minecarts.

So the boats on ice will now cease to be the only high-speed transport option. With the help of the mod under consideration, you will be able to accelerate up to 60 blocks per second by installing the minecarts on the appropriate blocks. The system features a special algorithm that is enabled only if all the conditions are satisfied. However, the crafting recipes and rails remain vanilla, and it seems that nothing has changed at all — but that is not so.

Review of the High-Speed Rail Mod

The mod brings the following mechanics to Minecraft: the speed of minecarts on usual rails will increase if you install them on gravel blocks. That is a necessary condition, without which you will not get increased speed. Accordingly, to create long lines, you will have to stock up on gravel blocks. For that, it will be enough to visit aquatic biomes with the Water Breathing effect or go to the Nether, where you can not only collect a lot of blocks but also get netherite, which is necessary for crafting good armor.

The system allows you to accelerate up to 60 blocks per second, and it is the maximum speed for now. By the way, in the vanilla game version, you moved at a speed of eight bps. A significant difference, right? It is almost 8x higher! However, you should not forget about the hardware of your PC: the mod requires a powerful video adapter and at least 8 GB of RAM to quickly load the game world. That is important — otherwise, you simply will not see anything, as the chunks will be unable to load. In some cases, you may experience crashes, although that also depends on the game build you use.

Main Features of the High-Speed Rail Mod

· Fast-Speed Minecarts. As we have already noted, you will be able to accelerate up to 60 blocks per second. The usual speed will be 40–60 bps.

· Adjustable System. If you wish, you will be able to edit the config file. That is, you will always be able to increase or decrease the speed. But if you do not want to deal with this, just leave the default values.

· Smart Cornering System. Your minecarts will not fly off the rails anymore if there is a sharp turn ahead. They will automatically slow down to an acceptable speed and then accelerate once the straight section begins.

· Server-Side Mod. Clients do not have to install it. It is enough to enable it on a server, and all the users will have access to its functions.

· Vanilla-Style Add-on. This mod is perfectly compatible with the vanilla version of Minecraft, as it does not add anything, be it blocks, items, etc.

· Speedometer. You will be able to enable the speedometer, which is a convenient and interesting function.

· Realistic Boats. The boats will now move on the ice at the same speed as on land, i.e., much slower.

You should keep in mind that the acceleration will not work on curves and too sophisticated routes. You will only feel it on straight sections, so we recommend that you do not create complex routes if speed is important to you. Besides, the High-Speed Rail mod has a speed limit of 78 blocks per second. By the way, you will be able to disable the speedometer and changes related to the boats in the settings if you do not need these options. The speed indicator is indeed a useful in-game function, though, as when you play with your friends, you can check it and compete with each other.

The mod cannot boast many features, but they are extremely important for the vanilla Minecraft. It is a very cool add-on for the game, which allows you to move around the game world way faster and get positive impressions not only from survival but also from journeys. You will be able to create your own full-fledged routes, railways, amusement parks, and all kinds of tracks to explore the virtual world faster. It is the best solution for a vanilla server, as you will not have to use teleports and other custom means, and only the bed is used as the spawn point. However, you will have to stock up on gravel blocks and accumulate enough iron, as it is necessary for crafting minecarts and railways. But you can create special mob farms for that purpose.
