Replenishing Health With Water

You can restore your health in Minecraft with the help of different food types: cakes, raw and fried meats, mushrooms, vegetables, soups, bread, and much more. Even in the vanilla version, there are plenty of ways for the player to replenish their health points and saturate their character at the initial game stages. But even at the start, you have to harvest wheat or immediately look for a peaceful village to pick some vegetables and seeds for cooking. The designers of the Healthy Water mod have decided to slightly diversify the player's ration and add water here as well. Indeed, why did Mojang not utilize this liquid in any way?

The Healthy Water mod adds a new way to replenish your character's HPs using water. That is, you will be able to drink some water and restore a certain number of hearts. In the process, not only health is replenished, though, but also saturation. That is a very important and interesting mechanic that will slightly change the standard principle of survival in Minecraft but will make it more realistic, as many games allow players to use water to replenish both their health and bottles themselves. Take, for example, Rust, where the player has to drink periodically in survival mode — otherwise, their movement becomes impeded, and their speed drops, and after a while, their health points begin to lower.

Here, the designers have implemented roughly the same thing, i.e., made use of water so that the player would have more ways of replenishing their health. At the same time, the lack of liquid itself will not affect the overall condition of your character in any way. And such an approach can be considered right, as it does not change the vanilla mechanics to the point of harming players. So any user on the server or in single mode will now be able to fill a glass bottle with water and quickly replenish their health and saturation. After drinking it, you will fill one health and one saturation point, which is a good help during survival.

The Healthy Water mod works great on servers, so admins can enable this add-on to slightly diversify the usual process of players' survival and bring some new mechanics. And given the presence of so many aquatic biomes in Minecraft, you will now be able to replenish your health at any time, even when there is no food around at all. That is very convenient everywhere, except for the Nether and the End. There is no water there, so you will have to take bottles with you to replenish the saturation and health of your character.

Besides, we recommend installing custom mods to slightly change the stacks. Indeed, by default, each bottle with water occupies one inventory slot in the game, and in order for the player to restore full health, they have to allocate about 15–20 slots, which is utterly nonrational and inconvenient. Moreover, you usually have to carry some food with you, as you will hardly use only water to replenish your health. But if you install mods that change stacks, you will be able to stack 64 bottles in one cell and carry a large volume of water with you. That is convenient for potion brewing as well.

So you will now have the opportunity to restore your HPs and saturate not only with food but also with water. There are many reservoirs, rivers, lakes, and oceans in Minecraft. And wherever the player finds themselves at the moment, they will always be able to quickly replenish their health and hunger. Even though Mojang has not thought through such mechanics in any way, the Minecraft fan community continues to actively develop different mods to add more features to the game world and somehow diversify the usual rhythm of survival. So it is not surprising that Healthy Water can already boast more than 650 thousand downloads, although it was released quite recently.

You can download Healthy Water for Forge and NeoForge, but players with Fabric-based builds will have to look for alternatives or resort to some nonstandard methods to make various Minecraft mods compatible. So stock up on water, take more food with you, and install mods that rework the standard stack system. In this way, you will get more opportunities under the same conditions of vanilla survival. It is one of the few add-on options that we would like to recommend to players who wish to make Minecraft more realistic and add something new to the game while retaining the vanilla style intact.

By the way, you will be able to use water from any reservoirs: rivers, lakes, small ditches, and oceans. If you add some custom mods to Minecraft that bring different biomes, water from them will also become usable to replenish health. Besides, there are options that add more capacious means to carry more water or any other liquids in the inventory, and here, it is solely up to you as to how to optimize the survival process in Minecraft…
