How do you usually mine blocks in Minecraft? For this, you take a pickaxe, go down into some mine and start digging. You have to change it for a shovel if it’s ground or sand. For more efficient and faster mining, you can use the «Efficiency 5» enchantment, which will make the process faster, right? But this isn’t all the process of mining materials in Minecraft, because you can use mods to expand it. So, one of the add-ons that we want to talk about is FTB Ultimine. This is a completely different approach to mining resources and breaking blocks in Minecraft.
The FTB Ultimine mod allows you to quickly break a certain number of blocks, a cluster at once, with their number in one square being up to 64 units. At the same time, it supports a realistic animation of the blocks being destroyed in the game, as if you are breaking everything at once. Generally, it looks cool and unusual for the cubic world, so we recommend trying it. It’s easy to control, and the mechanics are simple, which is a great advantage for the player’s survival, since they can get blocks faster and spend by times less durability of the pickaxe. Are you ready to give it a try?
The FTB Ultimine add-on adds a new resource mining mechanic to Minecraft. From now on, instead of one block, you’ll several at once. We’ve already talked about Only Hammers before, which added several unique hammers to the game that could break 3, 9 or more blocks with one blow. But there was a certain area, depending on the hammer type, which resulted in a little different mechanics. In the FTB Ultimine mod, it’s up to you to decide how many blocks you need to break, and this is a very flexible system that suits almost all types of surfaces, leveled territories, caves, and treasuries.
This mod will be useful for both builders and miners who dig resources in Minecraft mines from time to time. With this tool, you can select any areas and choose what to destroy. The area can range from a few blocks to a huge 64-block space. It’s not much, but collecting a large amount of resources with one blow is a significant advantage compared to the vanilla game version. Besides, this mechanics is suitable not only for destroying blocks, but for removing grass, harvesting, irrigating flowerbeds, and many other actions in Minecraft as well. It depends on what exactly you are holding in your hands at the moment.
The E key is used to activate the mod by default, however, you can change it, depending on the keys installed for third-party add-ons in your build, so go to «Settings» and take a look.
Next, the combination of E + Shift + mouse wheel is used to change the area radius. Just scroll it, and the system will show you the area that will be involved. As a result, everything falling within the radius of this area will immediately break as soon as you start working with the tool, so be careful when working with the FTB Ultimine mod and pay attention to all the edges so as not to break something you don’t want to destroy. In general, it works correctly in almost any version of the mod, but the player needs to get used to the new mechanics and learn how to choose the area correctly.
For example, we approach a field, where we need to remove a lot of blocks. Press the hotkey to activate the FTB Ultimine mod, and you’ll see a notification at the top of the screen. Next, you need to specify a selected area, for which you should hold down Shift and the hotkey and scroll the wheel forward or backward to quickly remove these blocks. As soon as the area is selected (to highlight the entire territory, you can look in that direction where you want to collect blocks), hit with a pickaxe or shovel, and everything will be broken.
It’s also important to know that all the broken blocks will be shown as a drop, so you don’t have to worry that resources will disappear, evaporate, or will drop in smaller quantities. It’s about the same as in the vanilla version of Minecraft, but the entire process covers a large area now. These aren’t all functions of the FTB Ultimine mod. As we’ve already said, you can use it for quick harvesting. All you need is to select a certain area and collect all the vegetables or fruits. The same system can be used to irrigate the territory, but you’ll need to use a hoe for this!
And that’s not all either! In the FTB Ultimine add-on, you can choose what type of cavity to dig, for example, a tunnel, a square, tunnels with steps, and a dozen other different options. This is extremely convenient. With such a tool, you can dig a tunnel into a mine in one click to quickly descend there, make an underground subway of any depth or length, and dig biomes in the Nether or in the End. Indeed, the functions of the FTB Ultimine mod can be applied to almost any materials, whether in vanilla Minecraft or any of the modified versions.
