Minecraft features many biomes, and each new version adds even more. However, there are locations that were released a long time ago but are still in demand by most players, no matter which server you join. They include a biome with mycelium, where you can find mooshrooms, large mushroom trees, and other blocks. But if all that is not enough for you, and you would like something more, you can install the Extended Mushrooms add-on, which brings various mushroom-related content. The latter includes new trees, blocks, rings, mobs, and much more. It is an excellent mod in this category.

The Extended Mushrooms add-on brings numerous changes and innovations to Minecraft related to mushrooms, mushroom biomes, and mycelium. Thus, the standard mushroom fields biome, where you could find mooshrooms, will change and acquire new mobs, more vegetation, dungeons, etc. In short, this biome will be significantly transformed and expanded, and you will have an extra reason to look for such a location and try to occupy it as quickly as possible to make the most out of it. However, that is not all the content added by Extended Mushrooms. It is enough to look at the screenshots we have taken to understand how much this biome has changed in Minecraft.

Huge mushrooms can now grow on dirt and grass blocks and will appear with a chance of 1:25. However, most of them will still generate on islands with mycelium. As the designer claims, the mushroom trees can grow on podzol and mycelium at any light level, but in some cases, they can appear on dirt and grass blocks, provided the lighting level is below 13. However, the mushroom stem block will drop by itself and can be used as wood, whereas the mushroom block itself can now be collected using the silk touch enchantment only.

There will also be mushrooms that will impose a negative effect on the player and take away their health points when touched. Thus, we ourselves just stood on a mushroom with a blue cap and began to take damage immediately. While the effect is active, the character's HPs are decreasing, so it is dangerous to approach them. Moreover, once the effect ends and the player starts moving again, it is reimposed. The mod adds the following new mushroom types: Glowshroom, Poisonous Mushroom, Slime Fungus, and Honey Fungus. Besides, you will be able to interact with mushroom sheep of bright red, blue, and brown colors.

The Extended Mushrooms mod also adds new structures to the game world, which can generate on a mycelium island or in other suitable biomes where mushrooms spawn. These are small houses where you can find extra loot. It will not be particularly valuable, but the buildings themselves look very stylish and unusual. They can be made from almost any mushrooms added by the Extended Mushrooms mod, and, respectively, their color can be red, beige, blue, brown, or purple.

Besides all the above, Extended Mushrooms adds a few more important items:

· Mushroom Spores. They can be used to turn ordinary grass blocks into mycelium and cows into mooshrooms.

· Grilled Mushrooms. They are a new food type for players that restores two saturation points. They can be cooked on a campfire, in a smoker, or in a furnace.

· Mushroom Bread. The game will now feature not only ordinary loaf but also another bread type. It restores five saturation points and is an excellent means to recover your health.

· Glowstone Crumbs. They are dropped by glowshroom caps, and you will be able to make glowstone dust from them.

The Extended Mushrooms mod is constantly being updated and promptly adapted to new versions of Minecraft. The designer regularly supplements it with new content, developing this direction. It is one of the few add-ons that implements new features related to mycelium and mushrooms. So you have a great opportunity to play on such bright biomes and take advantage of new dungeons, colorful sheep, and huge mushrooms. Just look at the screenshots: the biome looks cool, and there are few such locations in the game world.

That is essentially all that can be said about this mod. The designer also indicated that you can create a useful fairy ring from the mushrooms added by Extended Mushrooms. So fans of magic and players who would like to take advantage of the mushroom power will have another reason to install this mod.
