Corpse – realistic corpses of the players

It’s impossible to live in Minecraft and never die, no matter how experienced the player is. You die in different locations, dimensions, in battles with bosses, mobs, random events, drown in lava, water reservoirs, or accidentally fall from a height. There are many ways to die, and the Minecraft world is actually not as «friendly» as it might seem at first glance. And the developer of the Corpse mod decided to improve the game world a little by adding realistic death mechanics for the players. Now, you’ll see your corpses with skins and will be able to quickly return to them, and if you «wait for too long», then all that will remain of the corpse is your skeleton, but you can still get your loot back…

The Corpse mod adds several unique mechanics and visual effects to Minecraft, offering you a unique and exciting gameplay. Now, other players’ corpses will lie in the game world, and if we are talking, for example, about the Minecraft multiplayer server, then you get an interesting picture. Corpse has a lot of possibilities, and we decided to tell you about all the peculiarities and advantages of this add-on!

The Corpse mod review

The developer of the Corpse mod wanted to add a universal death system for players so that it would look more realistic. Before, the player just died, the inventory scattered, and after a while all the items disappeared, but now this system has been redesigned and features many positive aspects. For example, if you die, your corpse will remain at the place of death. Moreover, it lies with the skin you were wearing. Now, it will be possible to determine who died at this place, and what kind of skin he had. This is very convenient, especially for clans or large teams on the server. If you had a standard Steve skin, then it will remain, and if it was a modified version, it will also be displayed!

The player has about 1 hour to get to his corpse and collect loot. All the contents are stored inside, and you just need to approach and collect them. Items and resources don’t scatter like in the vanilla game version, which is a significant advantage. Before, they could simply float away or sink, if you are in aquatic biomes, burn up in lava, scatter around a mine or far into the abyss. And this caused players serious problems. Now, all you’ll need to do is to approach your corpse and collect all the contents. But remember that you’d better do this within an hour, since after this time the player’s corpse turns into a skeleton.

The skeleton is the second stage, and here, you can also approach and collect all the items that you had before. Just click the mouse button to access them. All the contents are transferred to the same slots where they used to be before the player’s death. A convenient and well-thought-out system, isn’t it? If you were wearing armor, it’s displayed in separate slots, and as soon as the player clicks Transfer Items, he receives all the content with all the items automatically put on the player. It’s as convenient as if you have a locker in front of you, allowing you to quickly change armor and put it on.

As soon as the player collects loot, his corpse or skeleton disappears, and there are no traces of you being here. There’s a dot system for easy search of the point where you died. It displays the dots with your deaths in Minecraft, and this is another reason to download the Corpse mod and use all its advantages. If you see another player’s corpse on the ground, you can try to collect loot, but it depends on the administrator’s settings of the mod parameters.

The player can view the full list of deaths at any time with the U key. Here, it’s enough to click Next to switch between all the points. The system displays the dimension the player died in, his coordinates, name, as well as the exact time of death. Moreover, it shows even the character’s skin. For moderators and administrators, there is a /deathhistory command, which allows you to view the death history of any players. All you need is to specify a nickname after the command and see all the inventory contents, location data, and the exact time. Even if the player has already taken all the loot, you can use this tab to take a copy of it.

Another important option is fast teleportation to the place of death. By default, this option is available only to administrators, and it’s up to you to decide whether to add it for players or not. Many servers have privileges making such options available, and users actively use them if they die in mines, on the battlefield, or accidentally fell from a great height. It significantly differs from the vanilla gameplay in Minecraft, but usually such projects are enjoyed by experienced players who have completed the main survival line.

In the configuration file, at any time you can configure access to the inventory: all players or only the owner, the time it takes for the loot to disappear, whether the skin will be displayed or not. In general, the Corpse add-on has many parameters, and everyone here can decide what to use. But in general, the add-on is widely implemented on many Minecraft servers, as it solves a very important task: to find your corpse quickly and save resources, or at least get the opportunity to detect your loot, replacing standard points on ordinary mini maps.
