Comforts – New Types of Sleeping Bags in Minecraft

What is one of the most important items in Minecraft? Someone may say it’s a pickaxe, a workbench, a sword, armor, and they will be right to some extent, but it’s always important to have a bed with a spawn point installed on it. If the player dies, they will be able to appear on it, which is convenient in the vanilla version of Minecraft, where it’s impossible to install multiple rebirth points. You can move the point by simply breaking the bed and rearranging it at any time; however, it’s not always convenient, and sometimes you need to skip the night, but you don't want to rearrange the spawn point, do you? To solve this problem, you can use the Comfort mod, which will add a large number of hammocks and sleeping bags to the game world.

Generally speaking, there are many similar mods developed for the game of Minecraft, but most of them just add decorative items, but the rebirth mechanics remain the same. The Comforts mod will allow you to craft new types of sleeping bags and hammocks, where you can sleep to skip the day or night. At the same time, your rebirth point will remain on the standard bed if you have installed it before. These items will allow you to travel around the world, quickly skip the night to get rid of mobs and sometimes even sleep during the day, if necessary.

The Comforts mod review

As you see from the first two paragraphs, the Comfort mod will add a few new types of sleeping items to Minecraft: hammocks and sleeping bags. They are somewhat similar to standard beds, but their functions are slightly different. Below, you can check some of the crafts to get a rough understanding of how many resources you’ll need to craft a particular item. The same colors of sleeping bags and hammocks as for ordinary beds will be available in the game, which largely depends on the availability of dyes.

Each item has its own specific options and features that you must be aware of if you decide to install the Comforts mod. And be sure to check how to install the hammock in the game, since the add-on is very popular on the Internet, but players often add it in an assembly right away and later can’t understand how this item should be installed.

The functions of the sleeping bags:

· Simple and intuitive crafting – just use 3 blocks of wool and then add a required dye to the ready sleeping bag;

· You can skip the night on a sleeping bag, and the mechanics is absolutely the same as of the standard bed – you can’t skip the day, but the rebirth point doesn’t disappear at the same time;

· You can put sleeping bags into stacks, so these items are convenient to carry over long distances. You don’t have to take the bag if you have installed it, since it’s cheap to craft, you can stack it, and it’s just a waste of time.

The functions of the hammocks:

· It has a more complicated crafting, since it requires 6 threads, 2 sticks, a block of wool, and you’ll have to add a dye after that;

· You can use hammocks to lie during the daytime and skip the day, waking up at night. This is convenient if you need to wait for some plants to grow or just skip a day in Minecraft;

· You can’t just install hammocks like sleeping bags. They require a rope and supports that you can make from any blocks. The screenshots below show what the construction looks like;

· You can also stack hammocks in the game, but you’ll always have to carry ropes and suitable supporting blocks.

Attention! To install a hammock, you need to put 2 supports on both sides with a 4-block gap. Next, you are to install fasteners that you can get from a separate craft (you can see how they look in the screenshots below). After that, hold a corresponding item in your hand and click on the fasteners. Next, all you need to do is use the hammock to sleep peacefully. These mechanics are identical for all dimensions, both in the ordinary world and in the Nether, and in the End.

All the items described in this mod are available in different colors. In total, you have 16 versions of hammocks and 16 models of sleeping bags in the same colors as the standard dyes in Minecraft. You can repaint an existing item if you want. Although it won’t change its properties, but each player can choose suitable visual characteristics…

After installing the mod, you’ll get a separate configuration file where you can set the parameters for skipping the night, weakening factors, drowsiness, rest periods, and others. The Comfort mod is a great option not only for a single, but for a multiplayer mode as well. At the time of writing, this mod has been downloaded almost 72 million times. Can you imagine this number? The add-on has been included in many assemblies, is available for Minecraft 1.20.1, and can be used for both Forge and Fabric.
