How do you overcome high mountains or obstacles in Minecraft? You have to dig blocks, put new ones to jump on them, and then move higher. You can also use the elytra to quickly move and soar up into the sky, but not every user can afford them, especially at the initial game stages. However, the designer of a mod called Climbing Pick has decided to make a pleasant surprise for you and added a unique item that will allow you to quickly climb walls. It looks completely vanilla and copes with its task perfectly. So if you have never used this add-on before, we highly recommend that you try it.

The Climbing Pick mod adds a new grappling-hook-like tool to the game, which will allow you to quickly overcome any buildings, caves, mountains, and other obstacles. So you will not have to carry wood or ladders with you to put them and climb up anymore. Review of the Climbing Pick Mod

The climbing picks in Minecraft will help you in any situation where you need to quickly rise to the surface, overcome some obstacles, and pass through rocky biomes. To craft the new item, you will need just two iron ingots and three sticks. Place them as shown in the screenshot below, and you can use the item for its intended purpose. However, you should keep in mind that it will be possible to climb walls only after you take two such picks in your hands. If you have only one, you will not be able to do anything, no matter how long you will click all your mouse buttons.

You will need to put one pick in the main hand in the hotbar and the second pick in the off-hand slot. As a result, the main character will hold two identical items in its hands, and the player will be able to automatically climb vertical walls, blocks, and obstacles. So you will not have to press or click anything whatsoever. Such a mechanic slightly resembles FlyHack, which is used as a cheat, but the designer of the Climbing Pick mod has decided to make it exactly so, and that is quite convenient. However, if you take some other item in your hand, you will fall from a height, and that is important to remember.

The new picks can be crafted only from iron and cannot be enchanted. They are only used for climbing, so you will not be able to fight off mobs using them. As for us, we recommend that you craft several such tools at once after installing the Climbing Pick mod. They will lie in your inventory, and you will use them only if necessary. In ordinary situations, you will thus be able to safely hold a shield and switch to the picks when it is necessary to climb to some height. You will now not have to constantly carry wood, create ladders, and have a crafting table with you.

Those are all the functions of the Climbing Pick add-on, and they are scarce compared to other Minecraft mods. However, it adds one of the most useful tools to the game, which allows you to move faster in caves, climb mountains, and overcome any heights. You can use the mod not only in solo survival but also on a server — just do not forget that some of them may have anti-cheats that block any suspicious flights and vertical movements at high speed.
