The Chimes modification adds musical wind chimes to Minecraft that produce certain sounds when exposed to air movement. The game offers 6 types of such items, each crafted from specific materials and producing different types of sounds. In this material, we reviewed all of them, describing the advantages and features of each. This is one of the most unusual mods for the game, offering truly valuable and cool functionality in the vanilla version. All these structures are small sticks or tubes made from various materials. For example, they can be made of copper (finally a new craft for this resource), amethyst, iron, and other variations. Accordingly, this results in different types of textures. In addition to the usual “hanging” form, musical chimes also have a small extra feature: if you don’t like that they constantly produce sound, you can “mute” them by tying them with a rope. To do this, you must right-click + Shift on the chime. If you repeat the same action, the rope will untie, and the item will start sounding again.

Each musical chime has a specific purpose in the game, so before crafting them, carefully study the characteristics of each:

· Bamboo Wind Chimes – produce bamboo sounds in the game. They can scare away mobs such as phantoms at a distance of 25 blocks;

· Iron Wind Chimes – sound like real metal but do not add anything new to the game except appearance;

· Copper Wind Chimes – these musical structures have a deeper metallic tone, different from the iron version;

· Carved Bamboo Wind Chimes – made from bamboo using an axe, featuring a higher pitch;

· Amethyst Crystal Wind Chimes – as the author describes them, these are “shimmering sounds” that draw players’ attention;

· Glass Wind Bells – the last type of tubes added in this mod, notable for their customizable design.

If you want to hear a sound but there is no wind, you can approach any item from this mod and right-click it to trigger the sound. This allows you to test any chime and evaluate its sound in the game. The author really did a great job, creating not only beautiful textures but also pleasant audio. Such structures can be used in many situations. Here are a few examples where Chimes items can be useful:

· Decoration. The most important feature is decoration in Minecraft. You can place them as part of any interior design — for modern buildings as well as medieval ones;

· Alarm system. Using musical items, you can create small signaling devices that activate whenever a mob touches them. Just hang them near an entrance at the correct height;

· Server events. If you need to create unique games or events for players on a multiplayer project, this mod will partially help with that as well;

· Beautiful sound. Now in Minecraft you can enjoy not only music discs but also pleasant tones from this third-party mod.

All items from this mod follow physics and sway when exposed to wind, producing a pleasant animation. The developer succeeded here as well, so musical chimes will smoothly swing while generating different types of sounds in the game world. Their audibility directly depends on your audio settings — the higher the volume, the farther away the sounds can be heard. Even if someone tries to enter your territory within a dozen blocks, you will be able to hear these actions and return to your base to see who is currently around.
