You remember that Minecraft has charged creepers, right? Such creatures occasionally appear in the game world, but encountering them is a real rarity. Why should only creepers be able to be charged by lightning? What about bears, zombies, skeletons, and other mobs? The developer of the Charged Mobs mod decided to fix this situation and add a separate mechanic to the game that allows most creatures to become charged. And if you missed this addition, now is the perfect time to check out our overview, where we describe and show all the features of this mod. Gameplay becomes more diverse, and players can even collect unique creatures…

This modification adds a large number of charged mobs that can freely appear in the overworld. These include creepers, bears, spiders, zombies, and many more. The list is long, so the chances of encountering such mobs are much higher than before. They look really cool, and if you meet such a creature, you must be careful, because they have enhanced attributes. The mechanic is simple, but one important detail: they cannot explode! This is important, because vanilla charged creepers can explode and deal additional damage to all players. Ready to try playing with such creatures?

All mobs in the game can now become charged, and this applies not only to creepers but to almost all possible creatures in the vanilla world — from ordinary spiders to witches, blazes, and many others. They stand out thanks to a special texture that glows and has a pleasant shimmering effect. You will immediately understand that a charged mob is in front of you. They spawn randomly throughout the world, but the chance is still not very high. If you want to see a charged mob, we suggest making one manually. This is possible using a trident.

Important to know! For this mechanic to work manually, and for you to be able to assign and transform mobs into charged ones yourself, you must first enchant a trident with the following effects: Loyalty and Channeling. Then the player must wait for a thunderstorm or activate it manually using the command /weather thunder. After that, simply throw the trident at any hostile creature, and it will become charged. The mechanic is simple, and each player has two choices: wait for weather conditions or just do everything in Creative mode using all available features.

Using the Charged Mobs mod, you can turn only hostile mobs into charged ones. All neutral and friendly mobs will remain the same, so there is no point trying to change them. If a player transforms a creature, it will automatically receive new attributes: stronger attack power, increased health, and many other upgraded stats. Such a mob becomes significantly stronger, which can be a serious challenge for players. But visually they look awesome: interesting textures, pleasant effects, no lag. You can create an unlimited number of charged creatures — the more often you hit mobs with an enchanted trident, the more of them will appear.

This mechanic allows you to transform hostile mobs at any time and diversify your gameplay. Their parameters change as well: for example, armor improves, some projectile resistance appears, they move faster, jump higher, absorb more damage, and so on. If a player installs third-party mods in Minecraft and wants hostile mobs from these mods to also be affected, they can simply try to strike them with lightning. By default, the system detects all mob IDs and adds them to the whitelist.

The Charged Mobs modification also includes a configuration file where you can manually specify which mobs should turn into charged ones. There is also a separate option to define whether such mobs can spawn naturally or if they can only be obtained in Creative mode. This is an interesting mechanic that gives players the ability to modify mobs at any time and then fight them. And if you later put a name tag on any charged creature, you can preserve it in the world (when players leave the server, entities may despawn, especially if they are dozens of chunks away).

The modification is periodically updated by the developer, and various adjustments are made to the mechanics. For example, in version 2.0, many new modifiers were added for all creatures that can be transformed. For players, these are significant improvements that greatly enhance each mob. In normal survival mode, defeating such a creature is harder, but for an experienced player it is not a big problem. In the comments, you can write which charged creatures you encountered in the game world, whether you fought them, or whether you put a name tag on them to save them and keep them in your collection.
