In Minecraft, you have to use shears to collect sheep wool and foliage, as it is the only item that allows you to do that. We have already examined the Wooden Shears add-on, which brings more different shear types, and in this review, we will focus on another mod called Ceramic Shears. It allows players to craft this tool from clay and thereby adds another application for this material to the game. As a result, you will be able to craft ceramic shears and apply them in the same way as the standard ones. Moreover, we have not only explained but also clearly shown how they differ from the original.

The Ceramic Shears mod adds ceramic shears crafted from clay to Minecraft. Their recipe is slightly more complicated than in the vanilla game version, so you will have to get used to it and learn how to create this tool. Besides, the add-on has other significant features, which we describe below. If you would like to somehow diversify the gameplay and apply an item that is already present in the default list but has different characteristics, be sure to try Ceramic Shears. It does not affect the character's survival in any way but just complements the gameplay a bit.

Shears in Minecraft are meant for two purposes: collecting wool from all kinds of sheep and cutting foliage from trees. No other tool can do that, and players have to use what is available by default. The Ceramic Shears mod adds a new variant of shears. They have another appearance and are created according to a different recipe. The entire process looks as follows:

· You will need to find two clay balls required by the recipe.

· Place them diagonally on the crafting table and create the necessary parts from them.

· Put every part in the furnace and burn it. They will turn from gray to ceramic (brown).

· Then, put both burnt parts on the crafting table diagonally and get ceramic shears. That's it — you can use them for the intended purpose!

The ceramic variant of shears in Minecraft does not give you any advantages. Moreover, this tool will be 25% less durable than the vanilla ones: their features come down to the appearance and recipe. Still, you will use clay more often, and not just to craft blocks, pots, and bricks. You will also be able to enchant the new shears and apply the Durability and Mending effects on them. Then, it will become a virtually invulnerable tool, as it will automatically repair. By the way, the player also gets experience for crafting the ceramic parts, which is another way to replenish XP in the game.

The Ceramic Shears mod will suit those who would like to add more realism to the game world, as ceramic items exist in real life, and their usage is quite widespread. Moreover, ceramic knives, for example, are considered one of the sharpest. Here, the main point is the possibility of crafting shears at the initial game stages. You will now not have to look for iron in a mine, extract it, and smelt it. It will be enough just to visit any aquatic biome, find several clay blocks, and collect clay balls. After that, you will be able to craft full-fledged shears in the game. Besides, do not forget that they look much more interesting than the vanilla variant.

As for the process of collecting wool and foliage, it has remained the same — the mechanics are no different from the standard one. So here, you only get a new appearance and an altogether different crafting recipe. As a matter of fact, the standard version of Minecraft lacks such recipes that would force the player to create one component after another to eventually craft some specific item to use in the game world. In this regard, the Ceramic Shears mad provides significant advantages and opportunities, even though it is focused only on a narrow in-game function.

That is actually all added by the Ceramic Shears mod. You can burn all the parts in any available furnace. As for the new recipes, we have attached them to this review so that you do not forget them. However, the designer has deliberately made them similar to the vanilla recipe so that there is no confusion. If they want to, the player can even put the ceramic shears' parts in a frame, which will be an excellent decoration for any room.
