Creating automated systems is one of the most important mechanics in Minecraft, and as soon as a player starts to understand redstone and different components a little, they try to create various farms and mechanisms to automate many processes. However, there are no full-fledged sorters in the game, and for this you need to install industrial mods. Installing large mods solely for this purpose makes no sense, since they contain a lot of other things. But if the user simply adds a sorter to their modpack that would allow them to automate the distribution of blocks and items, that would be a completely different story, right?

The Automatic Sorter modification offers you an interesting item sorter that allows transporting elements and filtering them using whitelists and blacklists. This mod adds three new components to Minecraft: a filter, pipes, and a sorter controller. With this system, players will be able to create versatile setups both in the vanilla version of the game and in other mods, using elements from them. And no additional content or hundreds of new tools and blocks. Why? You get only a few important components around which the entire process revolves. In this material, we not only talk about the new features of this mod, but also show you clearly how to build this system in the game.

Sorting helps the game process large amounts of resources faster and automatically distribute them to the necessary chests. But in the vanilla version of the game, you have to place many comparators and repeaters, and this is partly a “workaround” that does not solve the main problem. The player spends hours building the system, even though they could have sorted the items manually in the same amount of time. This is exactly why developers in the game’s fan community create separate mods so that anyone can build a sorter or other mechanism in just a couple of clicks. That’s why we chose this mod for our review — because it solves an important issue.

Only three new items are added to the game:

· Sorter Controller (it connects to the source from which the main mass of resources will come. Accordingly, you will place as many of them as you have different chests);

· Filter (another device in which the player can configure different filters. For example, you can block any items through this channel, allow only a whitelist, or filter by what is present in the receiving container);

· Pipes (the main method of transporting items and blocks in the game, and they can be extended anywhere).

To create a sorting system, you won’t need to connect redstone or any components. The entire system depends only on the three components added by this mod. Take a look at the diagram we attached in this material. Everything is quite simple:

1. You need to place a chest from which the items will enter the system. This is the starting point for the whole setup;

2. Connect a sorter controller to it, which allows the system to transfer and sort resources. You install such components at each container — whether it is a chest, shulker box, barrel, or other storage types from third-party mods;

3. From the controller, extend pipes to the filter, where you configure which items and blocks will go further. And for the system to understand what exactly is allowed, you need to place 1 block of each type for configuration. For example, in our case, these are several different Nether blocks;

4. After sorting, the blocks will go to the nearest chest located after the system.

With these steps, a player can create almost any system in Minecraft using only three new components from the Automatic Sorter modification. You can see their crafting recipes in the screenshots we added. As a result, by installing this mod, you not only know all the recipes but can already build a full sorting system, as we provided an example for you. It is primitive, simple, for a few chests, but it is enough to understand how the functionality works. The items are inexpensive to craft, and such components can be afforded by almost any player both early in survival and later when they already have various resources.

Pipes can be extended to any length, but only on land. If you try to place them underwater to run them through aquatic biomes, they will break. It is recommended to build the structure in the air or on solid ground so that it works correctly and does not break. No activators, redstone dust, or other vanilla mechanisms are required! This mod also has one special feature: whitelists and blacklists can support not only items from the vanilla version of the game but also from third-party mods. You only need to place the corresponding blocks inside the chests so that the system understands how to perform sorting. A simple and clear mechanism, convenient functionality, minimal knowledge and experience required from players. What more do you need?
