Additional Lanterns – New Types of Lanterns

What lanterns the mod adds

All the lanterns have a few basic differences :

· The color of the lantern (its frame, corners, and edging);

In Minecraft, you can get any type of lantern using the admin panel, for example, using the JEI mod, where you can immediately get any number of items for the selected add-on. It is quite convenient if you have admin mode enabled on the map and you don’t want to spend time collecting resources.

To craft certain types of lanterns, you will need to use the appropriate materials. This applies specifically to the appearance of your lantern. For example, to make a blackstone lantern, you will need to use 4 blackstone blocks and a torch, as shown in the screenshot:

For all other block options, just look at the table posted above. It shows the ratio of each color, the type of block used, and the light you get when you turn on the lantern. All you need to do is replace blocks. For example, you should use obsidian if you want to slightly change the color of the frame. You can change the light in a few clicks, using different dyes, which are available by default in the vanilla version of Minecraft.

Using Lanterns

To turn on the lantern in Minecraft, you need to approach it and click the RMB, and you don’t have to use a lever or redstone to do that. In this case, it works like this.

If you want to change the color of your lanterns, you should put the necessary dye in your inventory by selecting it in the active slots. After that, you need to approach the lantern and click the RMB. The system will automatically change the color of the light, and you will be able to further enjoy your game.

You can also change the color by placing a certain type of lantern in the workbench along with the dye you choose. This option is suitable when the item has not yet been installed or you have a large number of lanterns of the same color in your stack.

In general, such a large selection of lanterns opens up new horizons for all players. For example, you can build different types of buildings and apply these types of lighting for interior, exterior, or light quality improvement without using shaders. However, if you use shaders, you improve your graphics even more and get the best possible picture with numerous special effects of lighting, shadows, and ray tracing.
