Do you like how rural inhabitants and other NPCs look, which you have to interact, fight, or just see in different parts of the cubic world all the time? Unfortunately, the vanilla version of the game quickly makes you feel bored, and the standard models can’t boast of a great look, so, to transform all kinds of blocks, objects, environment, and mobs, the enthusiast developers create a lot of different texture packs for Minecraft.

Village of Pigs is one such texture pack, where the author focuses on the NPCs, which you have to interact with, as well as touches a few other living beings. The changes affect the following mobs: villagers, bandits, witches, wandering merchants, ravagers, and iron golems. Each of them gets a different texture, but their behavior remains completely standard, as in the normal version of the game. These are just visual changes, so nothing changes in the gameplay.

Review of the Village of Pigs texture pack

Almost all of the above-listed NPCs have been altered and completely redesigned, so you may not recognize even inhabitants or golems when you visit Minecraft for the first time. The main feature of the Village of Pigs texture pack is that all the characters got the faces of «pigs’», «boars»,, and the author added a brief story for each race to better understand where such look and style came from, why all of them changed their faces and transformed.

According to the developer’s history, the villagers – are peaceful people who have found new ways to interact with the environment and, finding their vocation, have transformed in Minecraft. Some of them farm, some forge items, and so on. And all of them have one unique and distinctive feature in common: they belong to the pig species, so each NPC will have a pink muzzle, looking like the standard pig from Minecraft.

However, bandits and witches – are representatives of the boars’ species, and you’ll have to fight with them to defend your truth. They also have a unique look, which significantly differs from vanilla style. However, the style is roughly uniform if you look at the Village of Pigs texture pack in general. The pigs were named Boarlins and are completely derived from their species, but only got «normal fat bodies», human legs and arms, and are covered with a thick fur coat not to freeze in winter at low temperatures.

It’s a kind of a «plot», which the developer came up with for different creatures to be replaced in Minecraft. He keeps developing this story, constantly updating the texture pack, fixing various bugs and failures, adding new functions. Despite the low number of downloads (no more than 500), this pack has a great potential. All living creatures look interesting, have cute muzzles, completely change the atmosphere of «rural life», and just diversify the standard survival principle in the cubic world.

You will be able to accommodate many inhabitants, assign a certain type of occupation and work to each of them, fully reproduce the rural life principle of the Minecraft world, and just diversify the standard survival. In general, it can be said that the Village of Pigs texture pack deserves your attention, even if you don’t like all the designed models.
