Texture pack developers offer just a huge range of different textures with anime, fantasy, space, various RPG-projects, IT, modern style and many other themes; however, not many of them create vanilla-style textures. So, you’re left to choose from what you have, sorting different packs, going through descriptions, and looking at detailed screenshots or trailers.

But we have done it for you by adding a review of the Crafted From Vanilla texture pack, which is an alternative to the standard game pack and as close to the vanilla style of the game as possible. Here, you’ll find the usual block and item shapes with the enhanced design. They all perfectly fit into the overall Minecraft style and undoubtedly convey the atmosphere of this project. Review of the Crafted From Vanilla texture pack

Capabilities of the standard Minecraft textures can’t be 100% satisfying for users, given that there are many different packs to choose from, and each player can choose something to download and install. But since there are many vanilla textures, we have to work with what we have, and Crafted From Vanilla – is a good choice in this regard.

Building blocks

Most standard blocks remained almost the same as they were in the original game version. Some building elements have undergone certain improvements, but they aren’t very noticeable, especially if you have played with different textures before. We’ve posted a few screenshots from the admin panel to give you some idea of what blocks look like in this category. The structure is somewhat reminiscent of the resolution and design ofFaithful, which we have already discussed.

Beds

The developer of this pack has focused on beds, releasing a special update for them. And this piece of furniture has really transformed if compared to the standard version. Now they have a slightly different the pattern at the bottom wooden part. The color palette for each bed also looks different now: the colors are more contrasted, more saturated, and sometimes are more bright.

Drawers and tables for craft

The developer paid much attention to boxes, chests, tables for craft, and other similar items where the player interacts with different interfaces. Here, the developer has changed the textures of every block to give them a whole new look, but in the common vanilla style.

On these screenshots, is it clear where the End Chest? Just look at its appearance – it has changed so much: not only in terms of shape and different patterns, but the color palette as well.

As for ordinary chests or workbench, there are no significant changes here: the texture is a bit different, more contrasted, but each block is more like a wooden item, because you can see joints, patterns, transitions, and it has attractive appearance. In the common Minecraft version, such items look a little crude if compared to the Crafted From Vanilla texture pack.

Tools

Another important category for any Minecraft player is tools that users have to interact with all the time to extract different types of resources, pull weeds, and dig mines. Indeed, appearance of the tools is very important. In this texture pack, the developer has changed appearance of each tool; however, they are all as close to the vanilla style as possible.

They look beautiful, high-quality, you can see the transitions, although the textures in general can’t boast of high resolution. If you compare Crafted From Vanilla and Faithful, the latter version is undoubtedly better detailed and clear. We’ve posted a few screenshots with different tools, so you can evaluate the quality and the differences between these items.

Armor and weapons

An extremely important item category for a player is a set (full armor) and weapon. It is necessary to defend against different mobs, to defeat bosses, to participate in mass PvP battles, when it comes to server games or single maps open for the network with friends.

Appearance has changed mainly for diamond items, including armor and weapon often used by players for battles and defending themselves in various biomes. Since there are many hostile mobs in Minecraft, it is impossible to visit different locations without proper armor. It’s also recommended enchanting this armor to have additional levels of protection.

In the screenshots, you can see what the different types of armor and weapons in the game look like, which are clearly different from the vanilla version of Minecraft. However, all the modified textures resemble the standard style, which many players find extremely important.

Potions

In the game, all kinds of potions have been changed. Each type now has a different updated style, but it doesn’t resemble what you saw in the vanilla version of the game. Although it is difficult to decide where the vanilla version of the items, and where the upgraded ones, so, it’s really hard to come up with something really cool and memorable.

All potions are made in the same style and differ only in the bulb form, depending on the type, as well as in color palettes. There is a lighting loop of a unique shape, which gives such items even more effects in the game.

Bookshelves and inhabitants

We decided to combine these two elements of Minecraft into one category. As for the bookshelves – their texture has almost completely changed: a new shade, color scheme, and patterns, but the author made it so that its vanilla «roots» are still visible.

But the villagers have been only half-changed by the author. For example, he added different colors for each of them: dark people, white, black, and many others. Moreover, you can find them in any village, regardless of biome. You’ll see all the changes even if you just spawn a villager with a summoning egg. These NPCs look cool, and the player will have additional motivation to find a village to start trading with these inhabitants.

These are far from all the changes that you’ll find the Crafted From Vanilla texture pack – there are plenty of them. The developer keeps releasing new versions, describing the changes in a particular build. If you don’t like any of the updates, you can always download the previous version, where there were no changes and innovations. But in general, in his mod the author tries to correct all the flaws of standard Minecraft and diversify it, at the same time preserving the habitual style.

In general, the developer managed to create a really high-quality and attractive texture pack, which doesn’t significantly affect important aspects of the game. You won’t have to figure out where the ore is, since they haven’t changed so much. You won’t have to study all the items to understand which belongs to the building blocks and which is the decoration category.

The only disadvantage we’ve seen when reviewing this pack – no decent localization in some languages. If you install textures in these languages, you’ll see unknown characters, so you’ll need to switch to another language.
