Battered Old Stuff is an interesting resource pack featuring several styles at once. As the name suggests, this pack will make many blocks look old-fashioned. Besides, thanks to excellent texture quality and high detail level, it will make the game world realistic. The color scheme of the resource pack is very interesting. The game world will basically become a little darker, although this is not particularly noticeable if you look at its individual parts. The resource pack features 64x resolution, so you will not have to worry about the detail level. The designer has done a good job on it, and all the blocks look very nice. Besides the latter, you can notice changes in some items, but they are very scarce. The Battered Old Stuff resource pack can be installed on all the popular game versions, beginning with 1.11.2 and ending with 1.17.1. In short, the choice is very broad, which is quite important.

The sky has undergone certain changes related to the sun. Firstly, the sun has acquired a round shape. This is perhaps the most important and necessary change in it, without which it does not look particularly beautiful and natural. Secondly, the sun has become very bright. It is now difficult to look at it for a long time, as it blinds. Besides, it has acquired a border of a bright blue shade. And, thirdly, the sun has slightly increased in size. There are also changes in the night sky, which are related to the moon. After waiting until late at night, you can notice that it is of an orange shade. The moon has basically undergone exactly the same changes as the sun. That is, it has become round in shape, slightly increased in size, and now shines a little brighter.

The surface of the grass block has acquired a dark green shade. Besides, yellow particles are also visible in it, which resemble the blades of grass burned by the sun. In general, the grass block has become quite realistic, despite the lack of vivid colors. If you look at its side, you can see that the grass layer has increased and is now located unevenly. The texture of the dirt has also changed. This block looks lighter than before. Besides, various particles are visible in it as if it consists of stones and other elements. The grass is now of a slightly darker color than the block itself, so it will be clearly visible against its background. Its blades have become thick, and their ends are not so straight and as if bent by the wind. The tall grass has the same texture, but its blades are taller.

The foliage block has begun to look the most realistic, but it still cannot boast elaborate leaves. The birch foliage has become brighter. Its color is now similar to the color of the leaves of the oak. In contrast, the needles look darker. The wood has also been changed. In the case of the birch, it has become darker, which is especially noticeable at the edges, covered with dark brown particles. The spruce wood is gray with slightly darker corners. The oak wood has become slightly lighter.

The images in the paintings have changed, becoming clearer. They depict some posters from the past, including with famous people, cars, and other characters.

The sand has basically retained its texture, just becoming darker. Thanks to this, the deserts will also look darker. In contrast, the cactus has become lighter, and we see better-pronounced spines on it. Their color has also changed, and now they are brown. Along the edges of the cactus block, you can see these spines protruding.

The textures of some flowers have changed and now look quite bright. More precisely, all the flowers have changed except for tulips. It cannot be said, though, that the tulips have remained untouched, but only the white tulip has changed. The dandelion now looks like a small bush because you can see several stems where it grows. There are quite beautiful yellow inflorescences on them. These inflorescences resemble a sunflower in terms of shape and color. The poppy is now also like a bush, but its stems are slightly lower. The flowers of the poppy are colored dark red as if they were roses. The blue cornflower, oddly enough, now has yellow leaves. The allium is now not as simple as before because leaves have appeared on its stem. The chamomile is now also a bush in the form of a single stem, from which several other stems depart. It has very lush leaves. Its flowers are very small but quite numerous. The white tulip now also resembles a bush.

The stone is now of a brown color mixed with a beige shade. It is now brick-like because it consists of small interconnected stones. It can be used for the construction of medieval structures because its design is quite suitable for that. A similar composition can be seen in the case of the cobblestone. The only difference is that it consists of the dark-brown oblong stones. However, you can also notice light stones in it. The ores have also changed, acquiring the basic texture of the stone. The precious particles in their composition now look different. Each ore has a unique look of these precious particles, the only similarity being that the latter are quite numerous.

The textures of the precious blocks have also undergone changes and now look quite unusual. The gold and iron blocks have a basically similar structure. They consist of quite large bricks. The only difference is that the iron block has these bricks fixed with rivets. The iron block is dark brown as if it is covered with rust. The golden block has acquired a more natural color with interchanging light and dark shades. The diamond and emerald blocks have a similar texture. They consist of frames with the respective particles inside. They feature quite a beautiful color with the brightness and contrast effects.

The planks have also changed and now look quite rough. The birch board is now of a light red shade, and you can see that the respective block is half rotten. The oak plank has become very dark. It is colored dark brown and features quite realistic stripes. The spruce planks are now covered with wool. The respective block mainly consists of wool, and you can notice only spruce frames on it.

Some hostile mobs, namely creepers and zombies, have acquired new textures. Their appearance has become truly hostile. Their salient feature is that one creature can have several textures. Thus, the creeper can be seen in four guises at once. This makes the game world the most diverse. One creeper seems to consist of iron — you could notice a similar texture in the case of the iron block. It has some iron bars on its body and a kind of door leading inside it. Its eyes make it intimidating, as they are red, and the face itself is black. They thus stand out against its background. The second creeper is of a blue shade in the lower part, and its head is brown. The third creeper is slightly lighter. It is colored light brown and does not have one eye. The fourth creeper is similar to the first but has a bit lighter head.
