XeKr Square Pattern – Colorful Textures and 3D Models

How many different textures do you usually try before you find the one you need? Or are you still looking for some worthy texture packs? If so, pay attention to XeKr Square Pattern. It is a pack from a popular Minecraft modder, who has created his version of textures that look similar to their vanilla counterparts but have certain improvements. By the way, some items have 3D models, which is especially relevant for vanilla versions since Mojang developers have not yet added volume to most elements.

According to the developer, these are combined textures that use unique models. However, you don’t need OptiFine or any third-party mods to transform Minecraft. The pack tweaks the appearance of blocks or items, as well as the interface. Thus, the GUI will slightly change. Besides, this pack runs perfectly on any computer. It does not lower your FPS, significantly upgrades the graphics, and diversifies the gameplay.

Game Interface

So, let’s start with the Minecraft game interface. As soon as you install the XeKr Square Pattern textures, the GUI will change, although one cannot say it tweaks the game much. It’s only about the control panel and slots. The pack uses some kind of steel design, which looks incredibly cool. A few simple things, but they look stylish.

If you go into the character’s inventory, you will see that its slots look sunken. Have you ever seen anything like this? If developers change the game interface, they usually add some standard elements, a few new shades, and some textures. And that’s it. And here we have a completely redesigned GUI, for which we would like to say thank you to the author.

New Ores

Minecraft ores significantly change. Each block you see has more details of the material you mine. For example, if we are talking about gold or diamonds, there are square inclusions from different sides, and what is most interesting – they look pretty bright. It is not difficult to notice these types of blocks in mines even with low illumination.

If you open the inventory, you will see that block previews look rather interesting. However, the ore is poorly detailed, but that’s because the textures should correspond to the vanilla style of Minecraft, so the choice is quite justified.

Weapons and Armor

Another important texture category is armor and weapons. Here the author has completely redesigned each texture. The textures look unusual, but they do not seem quite «vanilla». They look more like some kind of SEGA or Dandy textures.

Feel free to check several types of armor depicted in the screenshots below. The diamond armor looks cool and unusual. The same thing is with the regular netherite items. Besides, if you enchant them, they will shimmer.

The author has completely redesigned all types of armor, tools, and weapons. The diamond items look brighter. There is even some kind of «sparkling». As for the netherite tools and armor, they look a bit brownish, which is more in line with the nether, for example, the local fortress.

These items don’t have 3D models, and if you throw them on the ground, you won’t see any 3D textures, as you probably would like to… Perhaps the developer will soon add something like that for all elements, but currently, we have what we have.

Potions and Books

The textures of potions have been completely redesigned. Previously, there were the same types of bottles, differing only in color. However, this texture pack not only modifies their appearance but also adds an icon above the potion, showing the effect and the type of potion, etc.

The loot does not have 3D models, and if you drop it on the ground, you will only see flat textures. But that’s enough to download this texture pack and take advantage of its new features.

Books also have icons. Previously, it was just a regular book and you had to hover over it to understand what effect it inflicts. But now you can only look at the icon, which displays the effect and other useful information. As a result, all the books can be automatically divided into several categories without even hovering over them. By the way, we recommend that you install a mod for automatic sorting to avoid problems in the future.

The appearance of bookshelves is no longer the same. The pack removes a large number of colors, which makes the bookshelves look duller. They don’t look quite attractive, so some players won’t like them at all.

Building Blocks

Such types of blocks as granite, diorite, different types of sandstone, deepslate, and cobblestone look cool. Compared to the standard version of Minecraft, the cobblestone will change a lot. That is why building houses from such blocks is much more pleasant.

Almost all of these blocks look different. Each of them has its individual style, pattern, and texture. They look unusual but overall beautiful. Some of them lack details or contrast, but you can get used to it.

Copper Blocks

Copper blocks look cool. Now you can get materials at different stages and use them for various types of construction. Just keep in mind that the oxidized versions will continue to further oxidize, and the color will finally change. However, there are special waxing mods that prevent materials from changing.

Please look at the screenshot to see which copper blocks you can use. It seems that you have a large selection of different materials, but this is the same copper only in different versions.

Planks

Compared to the vanilla version of Minecraft, the appearance of all types of planks significantly changes. The patterns become more expressive. Besides, there are different types of cuts. However, the planks look similar to each other and differ only in shades.

Such a large selection of wood allows you to build different types of buildings only from wood, using both planks and wood blocks.

Valuable Blocks

And what about the valuable ores from which different types of blocks are obtained? To build, for example, a lighthouse, you need to smelt a large amount of gold or iron, and some players even manage to get netherite.

The XeKr Square Pattern texture pack provides you with a completely new style for all valuable blocks. For example, the lapis lazuli block resembles a blue brick, although it looks quite unusual. The copper block and the diamond block have similar textures and patterns. However, they look cool.

The last thing we would like to focus on in this section is netherite blocks. They look more gorgeous than all the other options. Their texture includes gold, brown, and black. There is no solid fill. A visually pleasing gradient design is used instead. So, these textures look quite stylish.

Different Items

The modified spawn eggs are one of the most exciting features provided by this texture pack. Previously, you had to hover over the egg to see which mob it spawns. But now each of them has a small icon. There is no need to use the search, especially if your interface is in English.

The pack also improves buckets with mobs, such as tropical fish or axolotl. In the preview, they look like 3D versions, but they will have a flat texture if thrown on the ground.

The appearance of dyes also changes. Each dye will be in the form of a small handful of a certain color, which looks beautiful and unusual.

As a result, we can say that the XeKr Square Pattern textures are quite good, although not perfect. They have no particular contrast and lack details. But compared to the vanilla version, this texture pack completely tweaks your world. In any case, there will be players who will be happy to use this pack, given that it does not load your PC since it has a low resolution and quite good optimization.
