Review Undopia Patch

The Undopia Patch is a Resource Pack that aims to improve Vanilla as much as possible without fundamentally changing it.
It adds things that fit perfectly into the Vanilla gameplay or corrects visual errors.

I know what you're thinking now, there are a lot of packs that do that, including the well-known Vanilla Tweaks. What makes my pack special?

I also change things that are contained in other packs or are similar, but I am a perfectionist and try to make the things I change as detailed and perfect as possible.
If I notice a small visual error or if it just doesn't suit me visually, I try to correct it.
If you don't believe me, you can see the feature list for yourself.

I've been working on this pack since version 1.12, but I've only shared it for friends and have only now decided to release it.

So here it is, have fun with it.

Features

Gui
  • High Quality Main Menu Logo
  • Buttons that are inspired by Bedrock Edition

  • Shaded HUD icons (Hearts, Hunger Bar etc.)

  • Colored and shaded Ping Icons

  • The Pumpkin Inside texture has been given a bit of transparency to make it easier to see through

Blocks
  • 3D Doors

Note: Each door has a 3D model, each side of each door has its own texture,
and the block states of the doors have been rewritten because the doors are rotated incorrectly in Vanilla.

  • 3D Trapdoors

Note: Same as Doors. Each side has its own texture and corrected rotation.

  • The Crafting Table, Furnace, Blast Furnace, Pumpkin, Carved Pumpkin, Jack o'Lantern, Dispenser and Dropper got custom bottom textures.

  • Model overhaul for Ladder, Rails, Iron Bars, Mob Spawner, Sugar Cane and Sculk Shrieker.

  • Slight Model overhaul for Furnaces, Dispenser, Dropper, Pumpkins and Jukebox

  • The Dispenser, Dropper and Hopper got some changes in the Textures (Arrows and simiar)

  • Low Fire

Note: Minecraft uses 2 fire textures, but only one of them for when you are burning, I've made this texture smaller so that it doesn't obscure the view.

  • 3D Pointed Dripstones

Items
  • Blinking Eye of Ender

  • Lower Shield

  • Items that represent blocks have been adapted to these

Note: Some blocks, such as the ladder or rails, look very bad when shown as a block in the gui. (In my Opinion)

That's why they still look like vanilla in the inventory, but you can see the right model in hand.

  • Moved Nether Sprouts Lower to Match other Plant Variants

Entities
  • Fixed a point in the cow texture that was cut off in Vanilla

  • The shirt in the Alex texture was fixed because otherwise it looks cut off

  • The bottom texture of the Blaze Rods has been fixed

Optifine Features

This pack uses some features that only work when Optfine is installed. You can use the pack without Optifine, but these features will not work then.

Important: Random Entities and Custom Entity Models must be activated. Otherwise Mob related features will not work or will be displayed incorrectly.

Note: From experience I can say that it often happens that Optifine has not updated some of its features after a game update or in a certain version or that they no longer work due to an error. Therefore, it may be that something is written here that is currently not working.

Gui
  • When you enter the Nether or the End, the Dirt texture is changed to Netherrack or End Stone

Items
  • Different Axolotl Buckets based on the Axolotl

  • Enchanted books have their own texture based on the enchantment

Entities
  • The Cow got 64 new skins. The Red Mooshroom got 6 and the Brown Mooshroom got 9.

Note: If you name the normal cow after a well-known chocolate brand, it gets a very special skin

  • The Pig got 3 new skins. (Also the model was tweaked)

  • The Fox got 3 new skins, based on real Foxes. (One of them is very rare)

  • The Chicken got 7 new Skins. (Also the model was tweaked)

  • The Allay has a rare golden variant inspired by Minecraft Legends.

  • The Vex was modeled to look like the Allay.

  • The Skeleton Models have been modified to look 3D.

  • The Skeleton has a 5% chance to spawn as a Skeleton Villager

  • The Skeleton Horse Model has also been modified to look 3D

  • The skin tone of Villagers is darker or lighter depending on the climatic zone. (Cold biomes = light, hot biomes = dark)

  • The Zombie and Husk both now have an Alex variant.

  • The orignal bearded Steve is now a variant of Steve.

  • All the Steve and Alex from the Legacy Console Edition Default Skin Pack are now variants of Steve and Alex. Zombies got also variants based on these skins.

  • The Model of all the Baby Horses, Baby Donkey and Baby Mule were tweaked, because their Legs look weird in Vanilla.

  • Spiders got a variety of new skins. Most of them are based on real spiders and also spawn in biomes that match the real variant. (Also the model was tweaked)

Bugs / Missing Features

  • The feature with the spiders can be expanded infinitely, that's why I always add a new one when I think of one and I'm motivated to do it.

Updates

My past packs show that I'm not good at keeping things alive, but I'll try anyway. The pack gets updates every now and then when I think of new features, which usually happens in a new Minecraft version. If the pack is updated to a new Minecraft version, the old version will no longer be continued as this is too much effort and I am just a human.

Since this pack has similar or identical features to Vanilla Tweaks, I would also recommend using Vanilla Tweaks together with Undopia Patch. However, some features will not work together if, for example, the same model or texture is changed. I tried to adapt Undopia Patch so that it can be used with many Vanilla Tweaks features, so that you get the best Vanilla experience you can imagine.
