PetDragons– Dragons instead of wolves

Aren’t you bored with wolves in the vanilla version of Minecraft? All they can do is just follow you around and sometimes save you from mobs. But in general, they don’t even give a special visual effect so that you can finally say «wow». When you start playing Minecraft, you feel excited about taming a wolf, getting a dog, and sometimes walking it around the neighborhood and new biomes. But over time, it gets boring and you want something new, right?

The author of the Pet Dragons texture pack reasoned in much the same way. So, he decided to completely replace all dogs with dragons. Yes, you heard right! This pack allows you to get your «pet dragon», which looks cool, protects you from enemies, and follows you everywhere, whether you are in the nether world or the overworld.

What dragons does the texture pack add?

This texture pack adds 15 varieties of dragons, which will only differ in color. So, the kind of dragon is determined by its color. In all other respects, these creatures are completely identical to each other.

Only the wolf texture changes. The very process of taming a wolf (now a dragon) remains the same: you need to feed it with a bone to make this animal follow you everywhere.

The dragons look amazing although these are low-quality textures. The author has done his best to create cool design options, regarding both exterior and animation: all dragons will flap big wings, fly, and move smoothly around the world.

How do I change the color of the dragon?

You can do this in several ways:

1. Take the color that you want to dye the dragon, approach the dragon, and right-click on the animal. In a split second it will be recolored;

2. Or you can spawn a new creature and tame it again.

This texture pack supports all 15 colors. Thus, you will have 15 versions of dragons, each of which looks highly detailed.

Use the pack along with OptiFine for a stronger effect. With this mod, the textures will look better, especially if you install some kind of shader even with a minimum amount of settings.

Random color settings

If your textures are displayed incorrectly, as in the screenshot below, or all dragons spawn the same color by default, you need to change certain parameters in the game «Settings» .

The procedure is as follows:

1. Go to «Settings»;

2. Then go to «Graphics Settings»;

3. Select «Quality»;

4. Go to «Special Entities» and set the slider to «On»;

5. Go to «Random Entities» and set the slider to «On»;

6. Click «Done».

Minecraft will reload the textures at some point, but it won’t kick you out of the game. After that, you need to go back to the game world and check if the dragons are displayed correctly.
