Fusion Block Transitions is a small decorative resource pack that helps blocks achieve smoother “texture blending”. In particular, this applies to natural blocks such as sand, dirt, gravel, and many of their variations. To use it, you are also required to install Fusion. All versions that are relevant for the mod are also supported by the resource pack (from 1.20 to 1.21.10 inclusive). Overall, this is an optional addition, but at the same time an extremely useful one. Let’s try to understand why.

How does texture blending help?

Have you ever paid attention to how blocks look next to each other? Because there is no real connection between them, their edges meet each other abruptly at their borders. In some cases, this does not cause any issues, but often this very limitation prevents many block combinations from truly working, as they feel out of place due to a lack of synergy. This is exactly where a deeper level of interaction helps them come together. Overall, transitions between blocks with such textures feel more alive, as it seems as though the world and its elements are more tightly interwoven, rather than simply existing within their own separate boundaries.
