Review Trilitons shaders

Trilitons Shaders

This version of shaders has been created based on Chocapic13's Shaders. However, the designer of Trilitons shaders has refined many different aspects to ensure the current quality level. Several years have passed since the release of this pack, and this add-on has been downloaded more than 25,000 times for now, which suggests that these shaders are really in demand among players. And you can be sure that the developers have something to show.

It should be noted from the outset that the developers of this add-on have put a lot of effort into ensuring cool lighting and shadow effects. Accordingly, the minimum system requirements are unfortunately not that low, so it is impossible to guarantee its stable and correct work on weak PCs. Nevertheless, most PC owners will not have problems if they play on a good laptop or a PC with 1 GB of video RAM. But if you have a video adapter integrated into an old-generation CPU, you should forget about any normal performance level. Moreover, such a PC may be simply incapable of launching these shaders.

As the modder claims, he has created this add-on to give Minecraft a fresh coat of paint, diversify it, and remove all the boring and dull elements from the game, bringing it closer to reality. And he has basically coped with this task.

Review of Trilitons Shaders

This add-on can boast numerous features and is created on the basis of another popular shader. Looks interesting? Well, let us then consider the most attractive visual changes that await you in Minecraft.

Beautiful Sky, Stars, and Clouds

One of the main features of any Minecraft shaders is the changes concerning the sky, whether it is daytime or nighttime. It is what constantly accompanies the player, and the dynamic scenes of day and night changes make one look closely at even the smallest visual details.

The nighttime in this mod is pleasantly surprising. You will have to appreciate a beautiful and large moon with radiating rays. Its glow will be enough for you to wander through dark biomes without coming across evil mobs. In contrast, in the vanilla game version, a creeper could sneak up to you even in broad daylight and blow you up without warning. Another interesting feature of this shader is the beautiful starry sky. It indeed impresses with its effects and objects: the whole sky is literally dotted with small stars of different sizes.

The clouds are also of very high quality. They are far from those that we see in the standard version of Minecraft. They are voluminous, of different sizes, and visible both during the day and at night. At night, they look even more attractive. It's a pleasure to watch what is happening in the sky, even when a phantom is just flying over you. But at such moments, you need to be careful so as not to get extra damage because of mobs and lack of sleep.

By default, the sun is not particularly beautiful here and could be much more attractive, but you can fix the situation with the help of settings. Anyway, its light is enough to make everything around shine and sparkle. The modder has implemented cool effects of sunlight and glare. So, in clear weather, it is now nice to walk around the Minecraft game expanses and different biomes and watch the sun set or rise. These effects feature pleasant tones, so this is another advantage of the Trilitons Shaders.

Sunsets and sunrises are salient features of this add-on. When the sun goes down or rises, one sees reddish shades all over the horizon, which smoothly change to bluish ones as the night develops. The dynamic day and night cycle is particularly noteworthy here and looks great. Even if you stare at the sun, a part of the screen will be slightly covered with rays, and the higher the sun rises, the more the rays will shift.

Weather Effects

Weather effects are an important aspect of Minecraft since it can rain, thunderstorm, or snow during a single game day if you are in such a biome, so one has to constantly witness changes. The shader makes pleasant adjustments in this regard. Thus, if it rains, the entire screen is literally filled with large drops and even partly fogged. The intensity of this effect will increase or decrease depending on the weather.

It is also worth mentioning here the interaction of water with rain. Thus, if there is bad weather, the raindrops will be perfectly visible both on the surface and underwater, no matter whether you are at the bottom of an ocean, river, or lake. But the deeper the player dives, the worse visibility is, and the less noticeable the drops becomes. However, you feel like the rain surrounds you everywhere, and you will not be able to hide from it. At night, you can get caught in a thunderstorm, accompanied by appropriate sound effects, which is very realistic.

In clear weather, the effects are naturally related to the sunrays, reflections, sunsets, sunrises, swaying grass, and everything of this kind. The water textures change depending on the conditions, which we will dwell on further.

Underwater World and Water Effects

Most shaders can be judged by the quality of water, reflections, and shadows, and it is immediately clear that the developer of Trilitons Shaders did not stint on various effects. As soon as you enter the game world and approach any water body, you see a beautiful and transparent aquatic biome where you want to live like SpongeBob. The water textures are very attractive. The animation of waves is also in place, and the more wind blows due to various weather conditions, the higher the intensity of waves will be, both on the surface and underwater.

Diving into rivers or oceans, you can observe the sky, as it is very clearly visible through the water. The visibility in this shader through the respective texture is not so good, though, which can be considered a slight disadvantage. But the situation is not so bad, either: via the settings, you can adjust these parameters and make the light brighter, both in water and under it.

The underwater world itself is literally teeming with various mobs and fish, which cause splashes and some particles to appear. If you build a beautiful glass house and light up everything well, then the gameplay will be sheer joy. Watching the environment at night from under the water is generally cool but not perfect, though, as the deeper you dive, the worse the visibility becomes due to the water density. At sunsets and sunrises, the rays fall on the fish and illuminate them. As a result, these creatures look like fabulous goldfish, which once again proves that the shader is worked out in detail and a must-have for all users.

Environment and Flora

All the foliage sways from the wind, and you can set the intensity of that in the settings. It is not a particularly important parameter when it comes to shaders, but it perfectly complements the overall atmosphere of the Minecraft game world with extra effects. What immediately catches one's eye in this add-on is the highlighting of mobs. Thus, flying with the elytra, you will immediately notice a creeper in the jungle from a height, even though it is green and merges with the vegetation. The same applies to other mobs, such as cows, sheep, and pigs. They are highlighted separately. The textures themselves don't seem to have changed much, but these effects seriously transform the in-game graphics.

The biomes with ice blocks are especially stunning. These blocks are now not just a bunch of the single-type ice squares but real glaciers with transparent textures. When you travel through such a biome, you feel like you are crossing a Chinese suspension bridge with a transparent bottom. Under these blocks, you can see all the mobs, the covering of the bottom itself, and minor elements of vegetation.

And if there is a sunset or dawn, you will see refraction on the ice blocks, and the whole atmosphere around will completely transform. The advantages of water and ice blocks also become evident here. Indeed, the modder has elaborated both so that there was no sharp transition between them. This looks harmonious, cool, and professionally made: as if this was originally intended by the developers of Minecraft.

The Nether and The End

We didn't forget to visit the other in-game dimensions to show you how Trilitons Shaders transform the entire visual side of the game. There is more light in the Nether now: the glowstone dust, fire, lava, and other light sources look different. The color scheme has become more contrast, and the atmosphere and shades darker, but there is still enough light to notice all the details and comfortably explore locations, such as bastions, and look for spawners of blazes and other mobs.

The lava literally emits this bright and hot light. You feel it even before you fall and burn there. Those who are used to exploring the Nether in Minecraft will surely appreciate such changes. They look really cool. The shaders do their job.

The End has also been completely transformed. As soon as you get to this dimension, you begin to feel that you are in a dream. A slight fog and the peculiar shades ensure such a style, and it's hard to get used to it for a while. As in the Overworld, the mobs are slightly highlighted, although it is more difficult to see them here in such a haze. If you decide to visit an End city or just fly, take notice of how the sharpness works: when you focus on a specific object nearby, all distant locations and objects become blurred. This resembles the effects of the iPhone camera and looks cool.

We have tried to tell you about the most important changes and innovations of the Trilitons Shaders, although plenty of them have not been touched upon. The mod features a wide range of settings where each user will be able to thoroughly customize the graphics as they see fit. But even the default settings are enough to significantly change the visual picture and transform the game's graphics. It is one of the most interesting shaders; however, you should not expect a high FPS rate on weak PCs. Here you will have to experiment and check if the performance level is satisfactory for you or not.
