Miniature Shader: A Shader Pack With Only Basic Features

Most shader packs for Minecraft include a huge number of settings and effects, which is quite difficult to comprehend not only by a beginner but also, at times, by an experienced user. For an ordinary Minecraft player, this costs extra time, gives them a headache, and, as a rule, demotivates them.

Shader Pack's Settings

Let us begin with the shader settings so that you can understand what options are present there. A small menu allows you to adjust the water effects, torch colors, contrast level, and underwater shades. Thanks to the color gradients, you can customize shades as you see fit even in such a small add-on. And this is all the more convenient given that all the redundant options have been abandoned.

Shadows

This shader pack features a simple shadow system. It cannot boast numerous parameters related to this effect, and the entire Shadows section can here be disabled with one button press. After installing the add-on, you will see the shadows cast by mobs, the main character, and various objects. Using the settings, you can set the maximum distance for shadows and their contrast level. These are all the parameters available at the moment.

If we compare this pack with global mods, we notice that the shadows' clarity here is obviously not enough, and this also partly applies to their resolution. So you will not see a balance in this regard. But this is precisely a sense of such shader packs: you install an add-on once, launch the game, and immediately enjoy the result. Even though this mod cannot boast an abundance of effects, and its designer is not particularly experienced, dynamic shadows for grass and different types of blocks are perfectly implemented here. If the player quickly moves around the game world, they see how the shadows smoothly change and move from one area to another. Again, the specifications of your PC and the visual parameters play a significant role in this regard. But in general, the shadow system can be considered well-implemented for such a mod.

Water Reflections

If you have reached this section, we would like to draw your attention to the water reflection effects added by Miniature Shader. It is difficult to conceive how the designer has achieved such an effect and what means he has employed, but the water reflections here have proved to be simply amazing. Not many global shader packs can boast similar views, and players who use such mods will certainly appreciate all this.

You will see the reflection of each and every nearby object if you look at the water's surface. By the way, the water texture itself has been slightly reworked, and all the in-game water is now transparent, no matter what biome you are in. The reflections are produced by every object. Thus, if the main character is above the water, the water will reflect nearby objects, including the shore, houses, structures, and the environment. In turn, if some mob flies over the water, it will also be reflected.

Another unique feature of the mod is the reflection of clouds. Just look straight at the horizon and shift your gaze to the right or left. On the one hand, you will see that the adjacent terrain is completely reflected in the water. On the other, you will notice the firmament's reflection there, which is also perfectly drawn and identical to the real in-game sky.

In general, we can say that the designer of the Miniature Shader has done a great job even though his result cannot be considered perfect. He certainly deserves praise for such water reflection effects. Moreover, for players with weak PCs, this mod is a real find, as it is not demanding of the hardware, ensures a stable high FPS rate, and practically does not affect the performance level. The shader pack's settings contain nothing superfluous, so even a novice Minecraft player who does not know English will be able to quickly learn them.

We can only recommend these shaders to all players, especially those who have weak PCs. They can boast a pleasant atmosphere, constant support, bug fixes, and a large number of downloads. These are not all the mod's advantages, as they can be listed for a long time. But there is no point in doing that since you can simply download it and see everything yourself.
