Review Dale Shader

Dale Shader

If you are looking for a good shader pack that not only changes the appearance of Minecraft and transforms its graphics but also works perfectly on any PC, we recommend considering using Dale Shader. This add-on is an improved version of a texture pack called Dale Shader Textures, which brings a large number of changes and innovations. In general, it cannot boast as many features as global shader packs. Even so, there are all the basic functions and effects necessary for comfortable playing.

This mod is quite standard for its category and provides the entire set of necessary functions to transform the game without overloading the system with redundant effects. As the modder claims, his main task was to find a balance between performance and appearance, namely visual effects. At the same time, the shader pack works correctly with both OptiFine and Iris, offering each player a good performance level and a clear in-game visual picture.

Main Features of the Shader Pack

This shader pack does not have a wide range of settings, and the default parameters are quite enough to ensure a vivid and clear visual picture. In the menu, you can set the distance for clouds, change the gradient of colors, and adjust the color correction (there are nine options in total).

As soon as you enter the game world, you immediately notice shadows cast by most objects, blocks, and other elements of the environment. They are not as advanced as in global shader packs but fully serve their purpose. Moreover, the shadows are dynamic: you can see how their position changes depending on the direction of light from the sun and other sources.

Water reflections are also elaborate. They look quite decent and high-quality for such a small pack. The water is transparent and differs in terms of the gradient, density, and intensity of waves depending on the biome. If it rains, the waves will be more intense. If it is a clear day, you will see only a slight trembling of the water. It will be enough to fly on the elytra and look through the water to see the underwater world and everything that happens there.

The fish can boast a smooth tail wagging animation. It is a small but nice feature, especially for those who constantly wander across aquatic biomes. Even if you do not have any light source, you will be able to see the bottom, along with mobs, separate blocks, and even small effects, such as drops or air bubbles in the water.

Environment, Sunsets, and Sunrises

This shader pack features temporal anti-aliasing, although is it extremely difficult to notice. However, it is in place. In contrast, ray traced reflections will be noticeable everywhere, be it on water, glass, ice, metal, or another reflecting surface. The sky also looks beautiful, although not as realistic as in other shader packs. But given the category of this add-on, it is very decent.

The modder has added improved textures for rain, snow, sun, moon, and various entities. In general, he has done a great job, and many features have migrated to this add-on from his original texture pack after being enhanced by various improvements and new effects. New features are still constantly being added, so it is quite possible that this mod will subsequently grow into something global.

The lighting has also been reworked and now looks good. At night, the moon shines much brighter than in the vanilla version, while sunsets and sunrises have become smoother and not so static. By the way, this mod adds a lot of dynamic scenes, which are extremely rare in the original Minecraft.

The shader pack adds the foliage swaying animation in various weather conditions. Thus, if there is a gentle wind, we see only a slight swaying. But if there is heavy rain or a hurricane, this effect intensifies. The night has become a bit brighter, although an increase in the contrast level is also noticeable.

Summing it up, we can say that Dale Shader is an excellent option for most weak PCs and their owners. If you have long been wanting to install such an add-on, but larger-scale shader packs are not an option for you, be sure to try this mod. The increased FPS rate, along with standard and most basic effects, is guaranteed. There are no redundant features and numerous settings here that confuse you already on the second tab. There is only a completely clear and simple list of options that includes only the most interesting and important effects and visual corrections.

Be sure to check the Color Grading settings. There are several predefined configurations you can choose from. Thus, after enabling the Winter option, the visual picture will be immediately transformed, and perhaps such graphics will attract you more. All four seasons are present there, and each config significantly changes the game's appearance.
