They took many popular elements from other shaders, upgraded and implemented them in SORA Shaders, so this product can surely be called multifunctional, since it will be suitable for most users, both with weak and powerful PCs.

But the main difference between SORA Shaders and other shaders is that there is no «movie» effects, which only make additional load on your computer and reduce FPS. Here, there are mostly standard and familiar effects, which make it possible to visually improve the picture in Minecraft and transform it, but at the same time keep almost the same « vanilla style », without losing FPS.

Sky and clouds

Specially we should mention the beautiful sky and colorful clouds, which attract attention immediately after the first login to the server or a single game. Moreover, the sky can look different: it shines in sunny weather, becomes gloomy if the weather is bad and rainy, transforms at sunsets and sunrises.

By the way, you can watch colorful transitions of the graphics when day changes into night or night into day. On the one side you have the moon, on the other – the sun, and they change using gradients and transitions. The result is a beautiful, eye-pleasing image. Generally speaking, these effects don’t particularly affect FPS, they are standard functions for most games, but Minecraft has always lacked them.

At night, the moon remains about the same shape as in the vanilla version of the game, although you can change it using different texture packs. But as for the other elements: stars, sky, northern lights, various gradients, and other moments, the picture significantly changes here. For example, you’ll see many stars in the sky, and these are not just «heavenly bodies», which are statically used, but full-fledged dynamic objects with the changing light intensity.

Sometimes, you can even notice how some of the stars fade, and others appear. The player will sometimes also see the northern lights. The authors of the SORA Shaders shader have developed this effect here by adding a large number of gradients and transitions. As a result, it looks as cool, colorful, and juicy as possible. The nights are simply amazing here, and if you have never moved at night before, with this shader you’ll definitely start doing it.

Shadows

We can’t say that the SORA Shaders has many settings for shadows, but there are certain basic functions. You can enable shadows in the settings, select resolution, distance, and a few more parameters for them, but there are no more general settings here, and of course, the functions are more limited if compared to something like BSL

However, I can tell you for sure that the standard options are quite enough to enable the shadows in the game and get a colorful picture. They will appear when sunlight or other light sources hit the player or items, for example, mountains or trees, foliage, plants, and mobs. You can’t select separate elements, for which shadows should be displayed, so if you don’t need this effect, you should just enable or disable this function.

Environment

В Here we are talking specifically about plants and the influence of weather conditions on them. Unlike the vanilla version of Minecraft where they were static (trees, foliage, and plants), all your plants will sway at the slightest breeze after installing the SORA Shaders. Ans since it keeps blowing all the time, you will constantly see the foliage and plants swaying with different intensity.

But in this shader the v is much slower if compared with other mods from this category and to some extent it looks more interesting and realistic, although here «each to their own». Vegetation is not only trees, but also different types of plants, grass, algae, so almost everything moves here what actually move, and it feels like you are really moving through a living organic world, rather than in the vanilla version of Minecraft.

Water, water biomes

Any shader affects the water biomes as well, since the standard Minecraft textures and effects don’t give a decent effect, and most of the mods from this category have already «set the quality bar», so the authors can’t do without changing the water. Actually, the authors of SORA Shaders have also made their own upgrades and reworked the mechanics. This is one of the few mods where the very water texture looks as realistic as possible, and if you move around the water biome you can compare it, for example, with GTA 5, although it’s developed by the largest studio.

The water is bubbling, shimmering, you can see the waves, the texture has completely changed and doesn’t resemble what you saw in the standard version of the game. Now the water will delight you if you decide to build something in this kind of biome or just swim across a river, lake, or ocean. It looks cool in all locations, fascinates with its appearance, and simply changes the whole picture. You can create colorful screenshots and screensavers, Minecraft videos for YouTube or your servers against the background of such textures.

If the sun hits, you can see flacks in the water, which look different from different angles. This is an important breakthrough for CORE Shaders, because just few of such mods offer this kind of effects, although they usually have many times more functions. Here we must pay tribute to the author. Sunsets and sunrises look beautiful, especially against the water background. Just look at how this texture displays the sky, how cool it is shown with refractions, and all this is automatic.

Light sources

The lighting elements have been changed in various aspects; mostly they have become softer, juicier, and more pleasant. In fact, almost every shader does it and differs only by the shades and glow. Here, you need to log in the game to understand and accept all the changes. We can only show you how the picture with different light sources will look, for example, with lanterns, sea lanterns, lamps, and torches.

The moonlight at night also looks cool, and unlike the vanilla version of Minecraft where you didn’t see anything at night, now you can easily move around the world and without bumping into creepers at the last moment. And this is very important. You ask why? In most cases, the players used to simply ignore the night and wait for the daytime. Or they could lie in the bed to skip this time when playing in the single mode. Now you won’t have to go through these procedures, and everyone will be able to enjoy the nights.

Besides the above-listed effects, there is also a «dirty lens», flecks of the sun, sun beams, but these are quite pleasant effects that complement the picture and generally transform it. There are no annoying and complex configurations. Even the parameters set by default are quite enough to get a decent level of graphics in Minecraft. But we recommend that you still go to the settings and optimize the image to suit your taste.

At night, there are cool effects and moonlight, the beautiful and pleasant sky with a lot of stars, which are not small but can boast of very high contrast and luminosity. This is the author’s another great merit, for which I would like to tell him special thanks. Players who have tried different types of shaders will surely appreciate these functions, since such options and effects are quite rare in Minecraft.

Each item such as Shadow, Fog, Effects, Water, and others don’t have many settings here, so you can use one key to disable any of them or adjust them a little. This shader pack rather suits those users who don’t want to waste time on customization, but simply wants a colorful and juicy picture in Minecraft. In fact, SORA Shaders is perfectly suitable for these purposes. Besides, there are a few ready-made configurations, for example, Ultra and others, allowing you to quickly switch between different sets of default parameter. As a result, we can say that SORA Shaders is a great option, both for beginners who have entered Minecraft just recently and for advanced users who need a colorful, bright, and contrasting picture without unwanted effects. Just in a couple of clicks, you get an optimized world with stunning graphics, beautiful water, biomes, weather conditions, and you don’t need to deal with the settings and spend long hours sorting through different parameters to get all of these.
