SevTech: Ages: Developing From the Stone Age

How to complicate the process of survival in the vanilla Minecraft and add more mechanics to it without really delving into the examination of mods? The answer is obvious — you can use modpacks, the designers of which have already done everything for you: provided all the config files, added all the necessary themed textures and shaders, and downloaded the libraries necessary for the correct operation of the entire build. Not a bad option, right? And if you are reading this review, perhaps you want to begin your survival in the Stone Age when there is absolutely nothing, primitive technologies are used, and automation is out of the question...

A modpack called SevTech: Ages will provide you with such an opportunity, as it is one of the few builds for Minecraft where the developers have tried to add optimal mods to bring more content without making the played delve into each type of crafting or the creation of some circuits or chains for hours. Moreover, you will have to start with the elementary extraction of fire to just warm up and cook food...

Overview of the SevTech: Ages Modpack

You start from the most primitive stages, beginning your journey in the Stone Age. And to survive to modern times, you will have to learn how to craft numerous new items, generate different types of energy, explore new locations, biomes, and dungeons, and fight different bosses while completing tasks offered by the SevTech: Ages modpack.

In total, you will have to develop through six different phases: the Stone Age, Bronze Age, Medieval Age, Industrial Age, Modern Age, and Futuristic and Creative Age, which is, in fact, the full-blown digital world of the future. Mods Included in the SevTech: Ages Pack

This build can boast a great number of different add-ons that make possible the very system of the transition from one level to another and the gradation of your capabilities.

Let us consider some of them:

· AbyssalCraft allows players to explore the world of the dead featuring new types of items, content, and different blocks. It is a completely different world that will change your concept of the afterlife.

· BetterFps is a tool for increasing the in-game FPS rate, thanks to which it is possible to reduce the load on your PC despite several hundred mods enabled;

· Baubles is a great add-on for the Thaumcraft-like mods, allowing you to expand the number of inventory cells. It integrates with many mods and serves as an API tool.

· Antique Atlas is a map for Minecraft made in a unique old-school style. It greatly fits with SevTech: Ages and provides a large set of settings, flexible customization, and detailed information.

· Compact Machines allows players to create miniature devices within a single block. With the help of such an add-on, you can fit different types of circuits in one block. It is convenient, effective, and facilitates the gameplay.

· Better With Addons brings new types of windmills, boilers, a large selection of engines, and many other items in the same category to Minecraft;

· Cooking for Blockheads is a cookbook with recipes for users. It is not the most important but quite a useful thing in the game, especially when you have not previously cooked something from a particular mod.

· NetherEx is a whole new generator for the Nether, which will acquire new biome variants, expanded territory, and other minor changes.

· PrimalChests adds primitive versions of chests to Minecraft, in which you can put less loot than in the standard ones. It is an excellent mod that clearly shows what the whole process of transition from the Stone Age to the Futuristic Age looks like.

In turn, the quest system will allow you to quickly learn all the basics and follow a certain path of development to appreciate the atmosphere of this pack.

This modpack makes use of the vanilla advancement system to guide the player in the right direction, and all the add-ons only contribute to your smooth development. It provides new achievements and features a large list of settings for each mod and the launcher in general. When proceeding to a new age, the player gets access to a particular set of skills, abilities, and crafting recipes, which only motivates them.

If you were to check each mod from this build in a piecemeal fashion, you would hardly have installed even half of them, as not every add-on features interesting content when considered standalone. But when all this is combined and presented as a modpack, this proves to be a great product, with almost 5.5 million downloads suggesting its usefulness and popularity.
