Cursed Walking Reloaded – a modpack based on The Walking Dead. As you might guess, it’s dedicated to the theme of the zombie apocalypse and survival in a ruined world. Everything is just like in American movies about the walking dead. You’ll have a huge arsenal of weapons at your disposal, but zombies, too, can be far from easy. Although their main threat has always come from their sheer numbers. The modpack adds many structures and buildings with useful items throughout the open world. You can either make a base in one of these locations or create your own little paradise. How deep is this modpack, and what makes it so engaging? Let’s find out.

First, let’s talk about the undead themselves and their limited mental capacity. Although they are still fairly primitive, they’ve learned not to fall for standard traps, choose more efficient routes, and act more briskly compared to their original Minecraft counterparts. Their appearance has also changed—now you can encounter truly diverse crowds. There are both recently turned zombies and pale, long-dead corpses. Their clothing also varies: home, casual, or even work outfits.

Since the mods add quite a lot of new items, you can sometimes find them on zombie corpses. In addition to rotten flesh, you might come across clothing items or even supplies and weapons. The best example is a backpack, which can appear on the back of some zombies. It’s not just decoration—it can drop as a real, usable item. For this reason, encounters with the walking dead can bring not only danger but also reward if you’re looking to gather items or useful consumables.

A zombie apocalypse in the modern world wouldn’t be complete without destroyed buildings and ruins. That’s right—from now on, abandoned places will appear all over the world. These can be single houses, TV towers, small residential complexes, villages, and even fairly large cities. The bigger the area, the more dead will inhabit it. You can find something useful anywhere. However, by paying attention to the types of buildings around you, you can guess what kind of loot to expect. Inside structures, you’ll often find chests scattered with unclaimed items just waiting for new owners.

There are many walking dead, but you’re alone. How do you fight them? A wide range of weapons will help even the odds. It starts with simple baseball bats, knives, and pistols, and goes all the way up to rifles and grenade launchers. Cursed Walking Reloaded includes many mods that introduce different ways to kill zombies. Naturally, the deadlier and more convenient the weapon, the harder it usually is to obtain. For example, heavy weapons like miniguns are rare to find, but with enough technological progress, you can try crafting them. And don’t forget about ammo—you’ll need it for every firearm.

As for variety, you’ll be able to mow down hordes of the dead using pistols, rifles, sniper rifles, grenade launchers, shotguns, and submachine guns. Each type has its own ammo, often stored alongside the weapons themselves. Most likely, though, you’ll rely on melee weapons due to the limited ammunition, plus they’re easier to handle. Here you’ll find bats, knives, swords, axes, and cleavers. If you wish, you can even build your own defenses and set up automated turrets to shoot zombies for you, handling the routine work.

The creator of the modpack didn’t forget about vehicles either. This is a major part of Cursed Walking Reloaded, including both ready-made ones and their components. You can use old abandoned cars, build your own, or even ride eco-friendly transport for comfortable travel on roads and off-road terrain. To craft advanced metal components, you’ll need the proper materials and machines. Also, don’t forget about fuel, which your future iron steed will need to move.

We’ve already mentioned it briefly, but the player can build their own base anywhere. You can settle in the mountains, where visitors are rare and visibility is great. Or you can live on the plains, giving you more prep time, or even in a city filled with traps and fortifications. The choice is yours. There’s also a mod that adds tents to the game. They let you not only rest and restore energy but also organize a workspace. Plus, such a shelter looks very realistic.

Let’s briefly cover some key mods that impact gameplay:
· Pam's HarvestCraft. Adds most of the new items you can find or craft. Without it, the modpack wouldn’t be complete.
· The Camping Mod. The very modification responsible for all the base-building essentials: tents, campfires, workbenches, sleeping bags, and more.
· K-Turrets. Adds an automated defense system, useful for protecting locations. These constructions consume ammo when needed and require manual reloading. They differ by ammo limit, damage, and field of view.
· Mutant Monsters. A mod that introduces elite versions of standard enemies. Since the pack revolves around zombies, only stronger undead variants will appear.

This modpack represents the classic image of a regular person surviving in a post-apocalyptic world. Cursed Walking Reloaded gives you the opportunity to either make your mark or become just another victim like the hundreds of thousands before you. Try to survive as long as possible and maybe, one day, you’ll finally begin to truly live in these new conditions. Download the modpack and share your impressions in the comments below.
