Cave Horror Project – feel helpless with this horror build!

Minecraft has a minor horror element, when you go down into the mine and stay in a dark place for a long time and begin to hear a variety of sounds. And it’s here that the developers stopped, so as not to scare off a younger audience. However, if you want to experience emotions and feel scared, then the Cave Horror Project build is a suitable option for you. No wonder they say that you can find everything you want in the mods.

The gist of the build is to scare you in all the possible ways. Here, they use loud sounds, unexpectedly appearing monsters, just stationary objects that will stare at the player. The author notes that there are also special monsters that will be far more dangerous than ordinary night ones. They are hard to find, but it’s similarly hard to survive their attack, because they know how to break blocks, which is commendable.

Try not to be scared

The most important thing in this build is its atmosphere, which is achieved by adding a variety of monsters and simple but extremely creepy surroundings. You can immediately see it in the world, because often you can find a cow or a sheep corpse nearby. And if you start gazing into the distance, soon you’ll notice a pair of white eyes. Yes, this is the very Herobrine that used to be so often remembered and feared.

Another main monster, which the mod pack author singles out is the Man from the fog. The appearance of the latter will foreshadow something terrible that may happen to you. He looks terrifying, and most important thing – you won’t be able to escape; all you can do is either to hide decently or to kill. Indeed, this is accompanied by simply hellish sounds played really abruptly, and this creature appears unnoticed. In the screenshots, it stands motionless, which is done on purpose to make a proper screenshot, because it moves incredibly fast.

You’ll be lucky if this man from the fog is ordinary, because there’s a chance that he’ll turn into just an incredibly strong creature that will start hunting you. After he gets to the character, he begins to kill the player with extreme cruelty.

Keep in mind that this creature can break blocks! This list includes glass and wooden fences.

Well, the last creature that will be waiting for you is a Cave Dweller.

The conditions for his appearance are completely unclear. But he appears in caves and darkness only. One thing is always clear – if you walk around the cave, you are very likely to meet this mob. His deals incredible damage, so his appearance always guarantees your death at the initial game stages.

This underground inhabitant is also hard to escape from; we can even say that it’s impossible. It moves so fast that only speed potions will help here, but not for sure. It always appears unexpectedly, so even if you already know about its existence, you will definitely be scared.
Well, as for Herobrine, in most cases he’s a passive observer here. Don’t panic if you see him, just go your way and ignore him. There’s no point in approaching him, because he’ll simply disappear, or teleport to another place, to be more precise. Sometimes, it will be written in the chat that something is looking at you from behind.

Those a little smarter, will just zoom in the picture on their screen with a particular mod. In this case, Herobrine will say that he sees you. You can also be attacked by different mobs with the same brilliant white eyes, which are also this creature’s tricks.
Indeed, these aren’t all the mobs in the mod pack. There are A LOT more of them; it’s just that these are the most interesting and scary, and the most elaborated by the author.

Explore the world

Simple surviving in a world with monsters and being scared of them isn’t so interesting. A better option is exploring different structures, so it’s available here .

Various buildings are quite common, and you really won’t have to look for them. However, keep in mind that many identical ones may appear nearby and these are not bugs. Everything looks almost the same inside. It’s a kind of half-ruined building with some chests that always contain loot, which is good. But keep in mind that there are often different and dangerous mobs in such places that will try to kill you.

Here is a bright example of what you can find. By the way, this is a tomahawk – a throwing weapon that can break wooden blocks.

Find and control

You’ll have the opportunity to craft some mechanisms that will help you track down various mobs. These are mainly cameras, monitors, drones, and so on. But they all work in a pretty strange way, and you’ll have to spend some time to make it clear.

As you can see, there are really a lot of opportunities, and even our friend Herobrine visited us, saying «Hello» in the chat. And still the concept of this surveillance isn’t very clear, because monsters always appear near you and can’t just pass the camera without you knowing about it. Unless you launch drones that will help you fight back the most terrifying and powerful ones.

Mods included in the Cave Horror Project build

Let’s take a quick look at all the basic mods that make up the most part of the build.

· Armory – adds a lot of different weapons that will help you deal with hordes of enemies.

· CCTV Craft Blocks – is that very mod with computers and cameras with drones. You can read about its innovations above; we’ve already written about them.

· MrCrayfish's Furniture Mod – adds just a huge amount of various furniture. This is a basic mod, which can be found in almost every build.

· Deep Dark Extended ndash; extends the content added by the recent update with Warden and the Underground city. Now, you’ll find new tools and armor in the game, as well as simply numerous new blocks that can be used both in construction and functionally.

· The End of Herobrine – that very mod that adds Herobrine to the game. It even allows you to summon him with a ritual that players used back in the beta version. Golden blocks, Redstone torches, and fire – here is the summoning recipe!

· The Graveyard – diversify your world with some skeletons, tombstones, coffins, and so on. A useful mod that adds atmosphere to your world.

· Biomes O’ Plenty – we think there this mod needs no introduction, because it’s already so many years old that we can’t count them. For those who hear about it for the first time, let’s briefly say that it changes the generation of the Minecraft world. Now, there will be very beautiful and, most importantly, diverse places instead of standard biomes.

· Sophisticated Backpacks – a mod with backpacks that you’ll carry with you all the time. You can embed various improvements in them, from simple sorting, to picking up items within a radius of several blocks directly into the bag. In general, you’ll definitely need it in your survival.

The build has no specific goal to achieve, so this is up to the player to choose one. However, the mod pack fully fulfills its task, since the abrupt and very scary sounds together with perfectly elaborated mobs create an unforgettable atmosphere. It should be said that it playing here alone won’t be such a fun as playing with friends, so we strongly recommend creating a server for the game.
