Beyond Depth – a modpack with large-scale gameplay changes. It includes over 400 mods and greatly expands the familiar Minecraft world. New Biomes

Let’s start with what the player will notice almost immediately and continue to experience throughout the playthrough. We’re talking about updated biomes and even entirely new dimensions that can be reached in various ways. The main focus here is on realism. You will no longer encounter strange terrain generation. Everything now fits naturally, and biomes blend smoothly into one another. It’s also worth noting that the base biomes have been expanded with new blocks and creatures, breathing new life into familiar landscapes.

But updated biomes are one thing, and completely new ones are another. They exist both in the overworld and deep underground. For example, the modpack adds a portal function to a forbidden city deep below the surface, unlocking access to a brand-new dimension. The same applies to The End, from which you can descend into the abyss. It sounds eerie and mysterious, but that only makes it more intriguing. However, to reach these new locations, you’ll need to meet certain conditions, while others will always remain accessible.

Mobs

This category of changes affects both ordinary enemies and introduces completely new ones. Let’s start with the former. The main focus was on Minecraft’s standard bosses: The Ender Dragon and the Wither. In addition to new, grander looks, their abilities have also changed. In the dragon’s case, even the arena itself has been redesigned. Instead of crude obsidian pillars, there now stand elegant towers that impress with their architecture.

 

As for the new mobs, there’s an increase among both neutral and hostile creatures. Neutral or peaceful mobs mainly inhabit the new overworld biomes. They may drop rare or unique resources required for specific recipes. Some can even become pets. Hostile creatures, on the other hand, dwell in biomes hidden behind portals or in dungeons, where they guard the boss chambers. Over 300 new mobs and 35 unique bosses have been added in total.

Combat System

Combat has also been overhauled. First and foremost, this is reflected in the addition of animations and a full player body model. Even fights with regular enemies have become more dynamic and engaging. You now have a choice of how to eliminate your foes. Previously, it was limited to swords, axes, crossbows, and bows, but now you have access to maces, clubs, battleaxes, cannons, spears, chainsaws, scythes, and daggers. Each weapon differs in damage, attack range, durability, applied effects, and attack speed. This allows you to select the best weapon for your playstyle, without relying solely on a sword.

Fights (especially boss battles) have become much tougher, making preparation more meticulous. Before, you might just bring a few golden apples or enchanted armor, but now the number of available options has increased significantly. Bosses in their arenas are unlikely to fall on the first try, meaning you’ll need to choose the best weapon and consumables to gain an advantage.

Fast Travel Points

Let’s be honest: traveling across massive areas on foot for exploration is extremely inconvenient. Even vehicles don’t help much. But what if the map had teleportation points scattered across it that you could use as stations when needed? That’s exactly the system implemented by the creator of Beyond Depth. You’ll occasionally find stone pillars throughout the world. Interacting with one activates a rune, unlocking the point for use. Through the minimap, you can mark or select travel destinations. This feature saves a lot of time during exploration. It also gives you another reason to more carefully choose the location of your bases or outposts.

Featured Mods

· The Undergarden. Adds a dark underground world and new flora and fauna. Greatly enhances the game’s atmosphere, making it more memorable and intriguing.

· Deeper and Darker. A modification featuring mysterious caves, ancient abandoned structures, and new types of resources used for crafting.

· Mowzie’s Mobs. Introduces most of the bosses among the 35 mentioned above—such as Barako, Frostmaw, and the Sun Chief.

· Epic Fight. Revamps the combat system with a stamina bar that depletes during blocking, dodging, and attacking. You must maintain a balance between spending and recovering stamina.
