Wayward Wonders – New type of «survival» in Minecraft

Are you ready to immerse into a grand-scale adventure and get hooked by Minecraft for hours? On the Wayward Wonders map everyone has a great chance to get into an open world with a lot of «Wonders of the World;, to explore the lands of the «cubic world » in the survival mode and at the same time to fight back hordes of different mobs, bosses and restore architectural monuments.

The Wayward Wonders map combines a few important features : the author has transferred some of the most interesting buildings from «the Wonders of the World» here, which you probably know from history lessons: the Temple of Artemis, Christ the Redeemer and many others. You’ll need to be clever to explore the Minecraft lands and protect each Wonder of the World by defeating enemies in a particular location. At the same time, you’ll have constant clashes against different mobs, bosses, riddles and secrets.

The Wayward Wonders map review

This map is similar to vanilla Minecraft. You appear on a random territory and can take any direction, starting your journey and survival. Along the way, you can collect different kinds of resources, craft armor, weapons, and other important items that you’ll find useful in the future. During the survival, you’ll live up random events, will see different locations and interesting constructions. According to the author, some players can complete this map in a few hours, while others will need a few weeks to complete their journey.

Once you appear in a particular location, you can use the so called «teleport» to move around the map territory quickly. There won’t be any specific constructions, but you can choose directions, such as random teleportation to the South, random location, and many more.

For example, we clicked Random Location and found ourselves in the terracotta biome with an interesting small building and a lighthouse. It’s primitive, but that’s what it is.

Also, there is an Outpost – a kind of «a house for a day», where you can sleep, hide from different types of mobs, and cook food. If you use such outposts, you can teleport to other parts from there, but teleporting principle will be about the same as on Spawn.

The map terrain

This map «weighs» about 600 MB, so the area is really huge here. In fact, the whole area consists of a few land masses, and is mostly deserted. You will extremely rarely come across water or trees, so if you’ve found a biome, be sure to collect food and stock up there to survive in other locations, because it’s really hard to survive here.

Besides these terrain features, you’ll also find different types of constructions, for example, «the Spirit Stones», «Lost wonders», «Wool Locations» and many more. Yes, the names sound a bit strange, but there are such places here and you’ll have to explore and visit them to collect as many resources as possible.

The map features

The Wayward Wonders map has certain features that stand out against the entire location:

· There are 2 «monuments» that you’ll need to restore. For the first, you’ll need to find 28 blocks, and 15 for the other;

· Hordes of mobs, bosses, different mobs and gangs, who are as well-balanced as possible, so that the player doesn’t have any problems, but they were «hard» to pass;

· A few dozens of legendary weapons;

· Different types of armor, including the ones unique for this map;

· Random events that depend on different conditions. That is, playing in almost the same positions, players will deal with different events;

· Interesting and well-thought-out shops where you can trade with residents in different types of objects and resources;

· You can use blocks to control battles with bosses. Yes, there’s a specific control system here, and you won’t need any mods in Minecraft.

Briefly about new locations

To summarize all the Wayward Wonders map features in general, it can be said that players are attracted by different events, so that they could «explore the world», use different vehicles for moving, extract resources, stock food. This is far from the most typical map, and those «lighthouses» and «Wonders of the World», which you’ll see on the map, just another addition to its image that allows you to «reboot» after the long journey.

There are really lots of different locations, and we’ve posted a few screenshots to show you how different they are from the standard Minecraft lands. Here, the author manually generated such constructions, and each of them looks beautiful and uncommon. Standard Minecraft generation doesn’t support this function. Just have a look at an updated village where just a huge number of «people» live. It is a kind of slum where people just farm and live in one large community.

In the forests, you can find other types of villages with inhabitants, which look completely different from vanilla Minecraft. And this is another reason to download the Wayward Wonders map, explore all the new locations, check every «Wonder of the World» and defeat all the enemies in your way. But keep in mind: you won’t be able to teleport to new locations and will have to do everything in the manual mode, using Elytras, donkeys, and sometimes boats. These constructions don’t have their own IDs, so in fact these are separate buildings, which you’ll have to look for.

All in all, it can be said that we can definitely recommend downloading the Wayward Wonders map to anyone who wants to try survival, adventure, and new emotions from Minecraft. You’ll see plenty of new location types, will extract different kinds of resources, armor, and tools, without installing third-party modifications. Besides this, you’ll see the «Wonders of the World» added by the author, where different events take place as well.
