Medieval Fortress Mojang Builds: Construct a Fortress Yourself

Not only there are cartoons and toys dedicated to Minecraft but also different types of printed materials, both official and non-official, such as magazines with interesting facts and secrets. One of the books by Mojang is called Medieval Fortress and shows different types of structures, their interior and exterior, cool architectural features, and many other details. It is from there that the designer of a map called Medieval Fortress Mojang Builds took the buildings, recreating them in the cubic world.

That is, on this map, you will see all those locations shown in Medieval Fortress. So you will not have to build them manually, even if you find the respective PDF. All the work is already done — it remains only to copy part or all of the buildings to your map, transfer to a server, modify them, and change the landscape, along with other important elements of any location.

Overview of the Medieval Fortress Mojang Builds Map

All the buildings are placed in a flat world, so there is virtually no landscape. If you want to enjoy beautiful territories, you will need either to transfer the structures or manually create the terrain. By the way, we have uploaded many maps with ready-made solutions featuring lakes, mountains, and other cool biomes. The only unique feature of the landscape under consideration is the small pits with water. Perhaps the designer has added them manually.

The map features a large number of various structures, including a castle surrounded by walls and buildings inside: houses, a forge, the keep, gates, vegetable beds, barracks, stables, and much more. There are also separate structures, such as a small standalone castle, which strongly resembles the main keep. Besides, you will find a temple, small peasant houses, different types of workshops, and even a standard generated village.

All the structures outside the castle walls are copies of what is within them. Thus, one temple is located near the keep, and another is not far from the castle. All because the designer initially built some structures separately and then combined them to get the final result. The main goal was to make a closed settlement consisting of a keep and adjacent buildings. So it is quite possible to comfortably live there without even going beyond the castle walls. All this looks beautiful and original. Moreover, such locations can be used for clan wars on a server.

Structures on the Map

The map is mainly dedicated to the Middle Ages, so all the structures there are of approximately the same style. The castle is not particularly refined and, for the most part, finished only in terms of exterior. As for the interior, there are bare floors, often with low ceilings. So you will have to think through the interior design, change something there and finish the building. But such an approach will allow you to quickly learn all the subtleties of Minecraft and appreciate all the charms of this interactive sandbox, won't it?

You can also find there a stable where farmers breed horses (only theoretically, though, as the necessary activities do not take place). The horses are numerous, and all of them are in the corrals, including roofed ones. This looks beautiful, fully corresponds to reality, and fits with the overall style of this map. There are also feeders and drinkers for animals and several different areas for them, so this structure stands out from the rest.

One of the largest structures is the temple, located closer to the castle walls. It looks like a typical religious building made of stone bricks and wood. There are places for congregation inside, so if you wish, you can hold some event there, gathering all the settlers, say, some kind of holiday or meeting. You do not have to use the temple only for religious purposes on a server. It is quite suitable for clan meetings when you need to urgently discuss something.

The entire territory is enclosed within large stone walls, so you can only get out and enter through the central gate. Moreover, there are merlons on the walls so that you can shoot from above at mobs or players who could try to attack your fortress. Don't forget about several towers with flags raised for quick movement. You can place different villagers or NPCs there as defenders if you play with mods.

All in all, we can say that the Medieval Fortress Mojang Buildings map is quite interesting but far from a perfect castle with adjacent structures and territories. You will have to work further on many points there, adding various interior design elements and removing redundant buildings. Most of the small houses have some kind of furniture inside, such as chests, beds, and tables. So if you don't like something, feel free to change, build, and create something new. In general, it is a great option for beginners who have not built castles in Minecraft yet.
