Review Gura's Atlantis

Gura's Atlantis: An Ocean Monument

Minecraft can boast numerous beautiful and extremely unusual structures, each of which may interest most players. These can be simple locations with biomes, modern houses, castles, mechanisms, pixel art objects, whole universes, or makeshift villages. But have you ever seen a monument amidst the ocean that would attract attention literally from the first seconds and fascinate with its appearance? If you haven't, we recommend you consider using a map called Guru's Atlantis to be examined in this review. You will see not only a cool 3D pixel art design but also a unique hourglass-like structure.

Overview of the Gura's Atlantis Map

Some kind of mystery is indeed felt from the first minutes on the Guru's Atlantis map because you do not understand where you are and what you are facing. You spawn on some platform in front of a large pixel art object in blue tones. It looks beautiful, original, and unusual and fits perfectly with the overall style of the map. If you look at the entire location in admin mode, you will see that very hourglass, where the upper part rising above the water, the lower part is under it, and the entrance is through the top. An original solution, right? However, the designer of this creation clarifies almost nothing…

The entire structure is made of quartz and sea lanterns, so it looks stylish, luxurious, and unusual. Such a combination of materials in Minecraft is extremely rare, at least because it is not that easy to obtain them. Thus, quartz can be obtained from the villagers, but you need to develop each of them for that. Another thing is when everything is built in admin mode. You will see bridges with waterfalls extending from the 'hourglass' in four directions. Transparent glasses are installed along them so that the player does not fall off. All this again looks cool, especially at night, when everything is illuminated with the sea lanterns. Moreover, there is plenty of light there to protect you from evil mobs.

The statue monument in the middle of the structure has an internal ascent to the top. So if desired, the player can climb up and look at all the surroundings from above. There is plenty of space to install several chests, beds, furnaces, and other important things necessary for convenient survival. The pixel art installation itself is tall, so if you climb up, you will see almost the entire area of the aquatic biome around, provided you set the maximum rendering distance in the game settings. So the map can boast a nice appearance, an unusual design of the structure, and high-quality implementation.

After the bridges, connected on four sides, you will see small lifts, using which you can go down under the water. According to the designer, each such lesser structure is a conduit-powered station necessary for the generation and processing of energy. As you can see, the map has references to mods like Industrial Craft. You can also quickly move down the stairs, but you will find only an underwater biome illuminated by sea lanterns there. It is perfect for taking colorful screenshots, but if you want to place something there, say, chests or interior items, you will not have enough space.

There is more space in the central part of the structure, so it is there that you can place everything you want. At the sea bottom, you will see a large number of corals that can be cut down or used as you want. The entire structure is made in blue and white tones and perfectly harmonizes with the overall background of the surrounding world. By the way, you are mostly surrounded only by water, corals, kelp, visible through the water, and other minor details. If you wish to add even more light, you can install sea lanterns underwater or download shaders that will change the visual picture of Minecraft in a couple of clicks.

Blocks of water flow from each bridge on both sides and resemble small waterfalls. One bridge features about ten such waterfalls, and that looks as beautiful and high-quality as possible. So the author has been able to erect an interesting and unusual structure in Minecraft on such a small area of the biome right on the water space. The theme of the map is more like something related to anime or fantasy but clearly not to the Middle Ages. The monument rising in the central part reminds us of one of the popular skins for the game used by many players on servers. So it is quite a decent map, albeit a small one.

That is all that the Gura's Atlantis map features, though. Its name suggests that it is some Atlantis of Gura, a kind of underground city utilizing the simplest power plants. The sea lanterns provide the maximum level of illumination, so you will not have to worry that uninvited evil mobs will attack you and spawn in large numbers. You should also not expect the phantoms to fly at night if the main character has not slept for a long time. The Gura's Atlantis map offers a stunning view not only of the aquatic biome but also the sky. And if you install some shader pack, such as Miniature Shader, BSL Shaders, or MakeUp - Ultra Fast Shaders, the visual picture will become even brighter and more attractive. Moreover, given a large set of parameters in each of them, any user will be able to customize the graphics as they see fit.

You will not find any other structures here, so that monument is just the starting point of the construction of Atlantis. Generally speaking, a large number of 'lost worlds' have been created for Minecraft, which can boast many interesting and unusual locations, large cities, and completely underwater places and structures. So if you would like to see more such maps on our website, just leave a comment under this review, and we will readily upload them. You can use the location of Guru's Atlantis both in singleplayer mode, refining and completing new types of buildings or just exploring them, and in multiplayer if you copy the structure and transfer it, say, to your dedicated server.
