Any standard texture in Minecraft gets boring if you play a lot, especially in survival mode. The vanilla style of the game is quite pleasant, but over time, one wants to try something new and see how one's structures will look with different packs and new styles. And given that several tens of thousands of cool and marvelous textures have been created for Minecraft, one can become dizzied by such a multitude. That is why we recommend you consider using a pack called Better Botanicals: Lumber & Woodstuffs that brings just one change to the game: new types of trunks and wood.
This texture pack affects all the in-game trees, including spruce, oak, birch, and many others. They will get an updated trunk, feature a more refined style, and acquire a realistic look while preserving an element of the vanilla design. All this basically looks very cool, interesting, and unusual and does not load your system with redundant files or reduce performance on weak PCs.
The Better Botanicals: Lumber & Woodstuffs texture pack slightly changes the appearance of trees in Minecraft, including both the trunks themselves and the pattern inside. However, the changes are not large-scale, so you may not even notice them after you install the mod.
In general, almost every in-game tree type will now acquire a style close both to reality and the vanilla version. So even if you are an ardent fan of the standard design, you will surely like Better Botanicals: Lumber & Woodstuffs, as it provides some advantages.
Thus, when it comes to the planks, they will no longer look crude and boring, as they will feature more patterns, a pleasant shape, and bright colors. Minecraft certainly lacked that, especially when the player built their structures using different types of wood. And, as you know, there are a lot of them in the game, so you can create the entire building from wood.
The logs can have small thickenings, giving them shape, beauty, and a peculiar style. The pack does not require Optifine, so you can easily install these textures without having to use extra mods that load your system. The recent version of the texture pack is 1.18.1, although it may be compatible with other game versions.
The main advantage of the Better Botanicals: Lumber & Woodstuffs texture pack is its minimalism and the absence of redundant blocks that may be peculiar to other sets. Only the appearance of all the kinds of wood is changed here, whereas all the other blocks and items remain intact and as they are in the vanilla Minecraft. All this look quite attractive. For greater effect, we recommend you install one of the shader packs that we regularly review and provide numerous screenshots. They include both ordinary shaders with standard functionality and large-scale options featuring a huge number of settings, all kinds of effects, predefined configs, and other advantages.
In general, we can say that the Better Botanicals: Lumber & Woodstuffs texture pack fits perfectly with the overall style of Minecraft and slightly complements it. It will be enough just to install it and see how the wood and all the in-game trees will change. If this option does not suit you, and you would like to change the trees' textures beyond recognition, we recommend looking at another set called Better Botanic: Vegetation, which we have also uploaded and thoroughly reviewed. We hope that our reviews and detailed articles with screenshots will help you choose the best mods for the game!
