A small ideological successor of the Zombie Infection mod. The mod’s main mechanics remained actually the same – now, zombies can infect all the mobs with the Zombie virus, including the player. However, unlike the original version, where the infection was really dangerous or at least disturbing, here, you can’t count on anything extraordinary.
In fact, this virus isn’t scary at all, because it doesn’t affect the player in any way, but for the effect icon in the inventory, but all the other mobs are much less lucky…
From now on, all infected mobs will differ from healthy ones by a zombie-specific texture of their skin or hide. Besides, peaceful mobs will now drop infected products such as Rotten Meat (don’t confuse with Rotten Flesh), Rotten Milk, Rotten Feathers, and even Rotten Fish. All these products have similar saturation and energy rates as the vanilla ones; you can cook and eat them, and only Rotten Milk will affect your health with that very Zombie virus effect.
Sometimes, in the infected residents’ chests you can find a new type of food – Rotten Soup. It is absolutely edible and differs from a similar mushroom soup only by the Zombie virus effect.
There are also new blocks – tombstones in the game. They can be either ordinary or purified. When you click on a Tombstone, you see a message in the chat that this stone looks suspicious. You can use the blocks to create atmospheric cemeteries or something like that.
The mod offers a rather simple solution to the issue of mass infection of Zombies – all the vanilla mobs, both peaceful and evil, can be infected and change their texture to green. Yes, fish too. However, nothing changes in the mobs’ behavior apart from the new texture – they aren’t interested in the player in that very zombie sense, that is, they don’t care about the player more than vanilla Minecraft prescribes. Some zombie mobs don’t even burn in the sun like all the decent zombies do.
The only new mob in the game is – Jaws. The mod developers added this mob, whom you can meet next to the zombie destroyer or other summoners. In general, this mob is useless and weak, it has only 3hp and weak damage, but they attack in packs, so you must be careful with them.
The mod is hardly suitable for independent survival, but it can complement any assembly related to a zombie apocalypse, for example, by increasing the number of zombies per square meter of the square world.
