The Minecraft universe includes many different entities, and every update adds even more blocks, items, artifacts, different locations, and dungeons. So even the most avid and experienced Minecraft player at times does not know where to find a particular block or discovers some new features. Even though the recent versions have a convenient system of dividing blocks and items into categories, along with a more elaborate search system, there are still questions about various in-game elements.
However, you can install a mod called TooltipRareness, which will show the rarity of each item and block. It will be enough to look at the tooltip and understand how frequently it is found in the game world. For example, when it comes to the diamonds, they are considered rare, whereas the dragon eggs are legendary. This feature will apply to all the items, like in a kind of RPG project in the Minecraft universe. Below, we have briefly shown and described how it works.
When you load any map or connect to a Minecraft server, you will see the rarity value displayed for items and blocks. We can say that this applies to all the in-game elements. Moreover, the TooltipRareness mod supports not only vanilla Minecraft but also all add-ons, so you will be able to realize how rare an artifact or block you have in your hands in JEI or the character's inventory.
When you connect to a server, it will be enough to open the inventory or use the JEI add-on and see the rarity value by hovering over a block or item. The categories are as follows:
· Common;
· Uncommon;
· Rare;
· Epic;
· Legendary.
As you might have guessed, the first category of common items includes blocks of wood, stone, and other frequently found in-game elements. It also includes coal, bricks, and much more. In turn, some valuable materials, such as diamonds and iron, will be considered rare. Netherite and netherite blocks are epic resources, as they are quite rarely found on a server. As for mob spawners, command blocks, the dragon egg, etc., they are often considered legendary, as they are the most rare.
These mechanics were basically taken from Minecraft itself, as it features an implicit system that identifies each element or block and assigns it a rarity in the game world. The TooltipRariness mod merely makes that explicit by displaying this parameter in a convenient and readable form so that you can immediately see how rare an item in front of you is. This mod thus does not bring anything innovative. However, it greatly helps beginners who have just started playing Minecraft. Besides, it will be useful if you happen to miss some major game update, quickly switch to a new version, and still do not understand what content awaits you ahead.
