The Outer End

The Outer End is a mod that adds several new biomes and updates the End. The mod will also complicate the final battle against the ender dragon by adding it new abilities and increasing its health points. Besides, it features several new mobs.

New Biomes of the End

When you get to the End, you will not notice any changes on the initial island, as you will need to reach the floating islands far away from it. Accordingly, you will either have to kill the ender dragon or quietly vanish.

After reaching the islands, you will be able to visit a new biome called Azure Forest. It has purple grass growing right on the end stones. Besides, incredible cosmic plants grow there, somewhat resembling the chorus from the vanilla Minecraft. Even so, they are quite different from them but nicely fit with the End.

The salient feature of this biome is that it can generate on floating islands or rather on any parts thereof. Thus, it can occupy not only the upper part of the island but can also be found on its lower parts and slopes.

Besides, endermen do not spawn there. You can notice that they walk around this biome, but they do not appear in the biome itself but just wander into it. Anyway, it will be safer there compared to other places.

The local grass cannot be extracted with a pickaxe and will drop neither end stones nor plants. However, it is possible to utilize the above trees, or rather giant flowers. Unfortunately, it will not be possible to remove bark from them, but you can make planks of their wood. As for the flowers proper, they can be cut down with shears.

Mobs

At first glance, this biome might seem lifeless. However, it only appears so because spectraflies can appear there.

These insects have ten health points. They will occasionally spawn near the flowers and sit on their tops. When the nearest flower is occupied, they fly to any other free one.

It is to that that their behavior comes down. They sit on one flower, then fly to another free flower, if any — otherwise, they will continue to sit still. By default, they are safe for the player. If they attack them — which is quite difficult because of their flight speed — they will get scared and fly away from the player, heading to another free flower. If you kill a spectrafly, you will get nothing. Therefore, they can be considered a purely decorative element of the biome.

Himmelite

Himmelites have twenty health points. They are hostile toward the player, and if you kill them, you will get a new material called floral paste. You will be able to craft himmel blocks from four such pastes. In turn, all the standard objects, which can be made of stone, can be created of them.

Purpur Golem

The purpur golem can boast eighty health points and is a hostile mob with an eye in its head. After death, it drops a lot of experience, along with purpur blocks. In rare cases, you can get the eye of ender.

Blocks

This mod adds new blocks called azure stems. They are extracted from the trees or, more precisely, the huge flowers.

Azure petals can be obtained by shearing the flowers.

Azure grass is a kind of grass block. It is part of the mod and generates only in the End.

Food

Azure berries replenish two hunger points but do not impose any effects.
