The Lost Oceans: Pirates and New Aquatic Content

A global add-on significantly expanding the list of aquatic biomes, along with the number of its inhabitants, and bringing a lot of new content, mechanics, recipes, and many other features has already been released for Minecraft. Even so, there are still enthusiasts among the modders who are not averse to further enhancing this aspect, which is why we see such add-ons as The Lost Oceans. This mod adds pirates, a large number of ships for them, different types of chests, structures where you can find valuable resources, and much more to Minecraft.

Generally speaking, the add-ons about pirates in Minecraft are not as numerous as those dedicated to magic, fantasy, technology, industrial colonies, etc., so any mod in this setting deserves attention. Be sure to read the description of The Lost Oceans add-on to understand what advantages it gives and how you can diversify the in-game aquatic content.

Overview of The Lost Oceans Mod

The Lost Oceans mod does not add much content to Minecraft but significantly diversifies the gameplay and the marine-related content. The pirates spawn mainly on different islands amidst the sea. You can encounter them when you travel across water expanses. You should keep in mind, though, that such characters are not particularly friendly towards you, so if you wish to get to their chests, you will have to deal with each pirate using various weapons, such as bows, crossbows, and swords. And be sure to wear armor — otherwise, you may go empty-handed after having received a lot of damage from these NPCs.

The pirate chests will spawn in boats and may contain different loot, both completely unremarkable and highly valuable. We recommend you move by boat or using the elytra — but be sure to take a bed with you so that you can quickly return to the spawn point after death and fight the pirates once again. A pirate chest can also include a pirate sword that can boast a unique appearance and quite balanced characteristics (5.5 damage points and 2 attack speed). You cannot craft it but can enchant it like the ordinary swords using bookshelves and the enchanting table.

The pirates are unique characters that can boast an elaborate appearance but lack one leg. It is hard to say whether that is a bug or a feature, but the NPCs look cool even with such an appearance. Besides, The Lost Oceans mod adds a large number of new achievements to the game. So if you like to get rewards for completing various tasks and attaining goals, you will have an extra reason. There are also loot tables, new structures, and keys needed to open the pirate chests.

The mod implies unique loot accessing mechanics. Even if you find a chest, you will still need to find the key that will allow you to open it and pick up the contents. You will not be able to get valuable loot in any other way. The only thing to notice in this regard is that you can resort to a unique mod, which we have already thoroughly examined, allowing you to see what is inside. It is called Jade and provides detailed information about the characteristics of a particular mob, the items you are looking at, the contents of any chests, and many other entities in Minecraft.

Another unique feature of The Lost Oceans mod is the possibility of summoning Poseidon. It will cast lightning bolts with a trident and destroy all the pirates around. Moreover, you will yourself be able to use such a unique item that allows you to throw lightning at all creatures, not only at pirates, in Minecraft. The texture of the trident fits with the standard game style, differing from the vanilla version only slightly. You will also meet Greek villagers and see different types of sea structures. All this expands the opportunities of players, both in singleplayer mode and on a server.

These are all the options featured by The Lost Oceans mod, so if you would like to expand the game content and add some new items and mobs related to the marine setting, it will perfectly suit you. The developer periodically updates and supplements it, and we try to promptly upload new versions for you and publish detailed screenshots to show you what content awaits you after you install the mod, what can be found on its expanses, what its advantages are, and many other points.

Note! By default, you cannot get a pirate chest by any means, including JEI and similar mods. Even so, in admin mode, you can use the the_lost_oceans_mod prefix. Thus, to get this chest, just type the /give Nick the_lost_oceans_mod:pirate_chest command, and the system will give you this item. However, you will still need a key to open it. It can be found in the dungeons or obtained by resorting to the JEI mod.
