Minecraft has a fine-tuned interface, which would be quite enough if it weren’t for the developed fan community that certes thousands of different mods. All these mods add something new to the functionality and interface, so each player can collect a build of add-ons, thus significantly transforming not only Minecraft’s gameplay, but its appearance and interface as well. In this article, want to tell you about Stylish Effects, which will change a standard strip with potion effects and make it much more convenient. Despite the fact that the function is aimed at a limited game mechanic, this mod has been downloaded almost 4 million times and is included in many top Minecraft builds!

You can fine-tune all the potion effects or use the ready-made version offered by the Stylish Effects mod by default. Anyway, you’ll find this system very convenient, because it’s totally different from vanilla Minecraft. You’ll hardly want to switch to the standard version after using it for the first time, since everything in Stylish Effects is undoubtedly more convenient. In addition, you can use pre-set parameters to customize the appearance and location of all icons. The developer of this add-on is Fuzz – a popular member of the community of mod creators, who adds the possibility of flexible customization to almost all his projects.

By default, all the potion effects in Minecraft are displayed on the right side, and they can simply overlap if there are a lot of them, which isn’t very convenient. However, monitoring all these changes is important for the player in order to understand, for example, how long the «Fire resistance» effect will last if he’s in lava now, or the health regeneration effect if you are fighting hordes of mobs. In general, the more convenient the panel for all effects is, the faster the player gets the information. And the vanilla version of Minecraft isn’t as convenient as Stylish Effects, although standard options used to be more than enough.

The key idea of the developer of the Stylish Effects mod is to add flexible customization of effect icons for every player, so that they can arrange all tabs on the screen as they want. Take a look at the screenshots we’ve posted. This is the changed position of the icons you’ll see by default, but even this version is by times better than in the vanilla version of Minecraft. They are located on top of the screen and don’t interfere with line-of-sight. At the same time, the player always sees the remaining time for a particular effect. Even if you have 10-20 of them, which is a lot for Minecraft, they still be visible on one panel. Cool, isn’t it?

The developer added a certain outline for every icon, made them more stylish and clear. At the same time, location, of course, plays an important role. In this mod, they are placed in the correct and convenient order even by default. If you have a large monitor, then all the effects will be located in a line, and if it’s very small, they will take up a few lines, but you’ll have to use all possible potions available in Minecraft. But that’s not all! As we’ve already said, a customization system is available here, making it possible to change the color, outline, and location of icons, as well as their style and much more in a couple of clicks. For editing them, you’ll need to install the developer’s Forge Config Screens extension.

The Forge Config Screens mod is managed via the Mods section. This mod just provides the possibility to edit in the mod settings, adding its own menu items to each of them. Just open the Mods section, find Stylish Effects there, and there will be the Config tab for it, where you can perform the entire configuration process. There are a large number of by-default settings, a very flexible appearance customization system, but you can also use ready-made widgets. For example, you can choose the following icon display options:

· Standard stylish effects at the top of the screen displayed by default but still very different from vanilla Minecraft;

· Text in addition to the icons on the right or left side of the screen atop all the windows;

· Compact icon display options with all effects written in text with a small icon;

· Effects with hints and much more.

There are a lot of settings in Stylish Effects, and you’ll have to spend some time to try all the parameters. Don’t forget to click confirm to save all changes, or you’ll have to change every parameter again. Those who have no idea of intricacies of customization and don’t want to waste time on them can simply add Stylish Effects to their build and enjoy the changed icons. The mod supports not only the vanilla effects of Minecraft, but all other potions from third-party add-ons as well, which is a completely different level. Every player will be able to use all the advantages of the mod for their tasks!
