Lucky’s Blocky Siege

A mod that complements Minecraft with weapons used to defend villages, fortresses, and castles. A ballista, cannons, especially strong protective doors – all of these you’ll find inside, will be able to craft in the Survival mode, and use it against enemies and mobs.

Long-range weapons

The mod adds four long-range weapons in total – a cannon, a ballista, a mortar and a hwacha – a weapon shooting with deadly fireworks. Unfortunately, you can’t adjust their position: all, but the ballista, are statically fixed and shoot in a single direction only, so it’s recommended installing them in uplands.

Cannon

A small cannon that shoots special cannonballs at a distance. The recipe for crafting both the cannon itself and the cannonballs is quite simple, but expensive for those who have just started the game, so don’t count on getting it at the very beginning. But even afterwards, don’t be eager to craft it, because the cannon shoots at a very short distance and it’s not efficient enough if compared to an amount of iron spent on it.

To use the cannon, you’ll need cannonballs, gunpowder, and a fire striker. Right-click to open the Cannons menu, put the powder and cannonballs in the corresponding cells, then close the menu and right-click on the back part of the cannon with the fire striker. It’ll warm up and fire in about 1 second.

You can make your cannon stronger with an exploding shell.

Mortar

The mortar is larger and more powerful. If you found crafting even a common cannon unreasonably expensive – forget it, a mortar costs several times more. Indeed, it’s much more effective – it takes just one direct hit to kill an average mob, but the mob must stand right on the line cannonball fall line, or it just won’t work.

The menu inside the mortar is the same as inside the regular cannon. You need the same scheme to use the mortar – put gunpowder and cannonballs, hit the fire striker on the body outside, and wait.

You can make the mortar stronger with a special magma cannonball. It not only explodes, destroying the blocks around it, but also forms a lot of magma blocks where it falls, setting the enemy on fire.

You can combine both Cannons and Mortars into a single chain or close the redstone with a signal on repeat fire.

Hwacha

Despite its strange and unusual name, this is quite a simple mechanism that shoots fireworks using a multiple-launch rocket system. Crafting hwacha is quite simple, apart from the fact that it really needs a lot of fireworks to operate.

Inside hwacha, there’s also a menu where you are to install fireworks. You can’t fire hwacha and ballista with a fire striker; to use them, you need to create a redstone signal and bring it to the lever. Next, just activate the lever, and your hwacha will shoot until you break the signal or until the fireworks run out.

Ballista

The most technologically complex weapon in the mod. To launch the ballista, you’ll need not only the ballista itself, but also redstone, and quite a large number of arrows. The ballista can rotate but fires only from the position, in which it was caught by the launch of arrows. Indeed, you can break the signal, and it will rotate to where you want.

You can place arrows in the ballista menu, and it’s activated by the redstone signal. The ballista can seize up sometimes, and then you’ll have nothing to do but to break it and craft a new one. Besides, the ballista is the only weapon that mobs can break. Literally. The ballista even has its own 60 hp «health» reserve, so be careful if it takes a place in your defense.
