Mob Compack – bring more life to some of the Biomes O' Plenty! Mod biomes

Sometimes, developers are so hungry for the content amount in their work that they completely forget about its quality. This happens even with very popular mods, such as Biomes O' Plenty. In this case, the author wanted to create as many different places as possible, however, many of them are empty, and there is nothing but blocks. Although the biomes look decent and beautiful, the player has nothing to do there. That’s what one caring person thought, deciding to add a few creatures to fill some biomes with life. His project is called Mob Compact.

The project is actually pretty small but very well elaborated. The author tried to add themed mobs that will appear only in one of the numerous biomes . Their animation and behavior are quite decent, much better than in the original Minecraft. Besides, a few items have been added. Fortunately, the developer knows that a simple drop without application is useess, so everything will find its place. For example, you can use teeth for a tool that digs a three-by-three area.

The Mob Compack mod review

Let’s start with the most important thing, namely mobs. There are only two of them; however, each fits well into the surrounding world and is amusingly implemented. The first in line is the Jaw.

It looks corresponding to its name. Its appearance totally repeats its biome, where it appears, namely Porous Flesh. It’s an aggressive mob, so you should be careful, since the damage is quite high. However, it doesn’t have much health, and you can kill this creature quickly and easily. It moves in very abrupt jumps, when you can see beautiful animation of its mouth openinf and the tongue falling out.

As a reward for killing it, you’ll get the Jaw teeth, which will be useful to you in the future. Specifically, you can use them to craft a very useful tool.

Crystal Slime

The very first thing that catches your eye is animation. It’s of very high quality, because the slime is strongly flattened when landing and it happens smoothly. It lives in the Crystalline Chasm or Abyss biom, where it mimics to the appearance of the walls and bottom. It’s not particularly dangerous for the player, because it moves slowly in jumps, so you’ll almost always be able to escape. In addition, the slime can’t do much in battle, it imposes little damage, and haseven less health.

After killing it, you’ll get this reddish clot. It has almost no uses, but for crafting an alternative block that performs the functions of the slime one. It should be mentioned that the chance of getting this item is extremely small , which means that its benefits are minimal.

Items

The mobs are over here, but the author has done a few items that will help you in survival very much. The first in line is a versatile tool that will allow the owner to dig the three by three area.

Frankly speaking, when first seeing it, you’ll hardly be able to guess that you are looking at a mining tool. This thing looks very interesting. By the way, it digs at an average speed; however, you can enchant it for Efficiency and Durability. To craft it, you’ll need the teeth that fall out of the Jaws.

Monocle

For true aristocrats.

It looks just great. It has one important function only, and that is the night vision effect. It will allow you to forget what darkness and poor lighting are. However, it’s pretty expensive to craft , which not every player can afford, because the Netherite is hard to find at the first development stages.

The Jaw symbol

A unique helmet that will allow your character to jump high enough. Specifically, two blocks high. It has no craft and falls out of the homonymous mobs with a very low probability. But it looks amazing, because your head looks just like huge jaws.

Cutting arrow

This projectile has an important property – piercing armor. Although it deals colossal damage even to a simple mob, you can kill in 2 shots with a not fully stretched bow. Crafting is standard, but instead of silicon the Jaw teeth are used.

This is all the content of the add-on. The author tried to add very elaborated mobs to the Biomes O' Plenty mod biomes, although there aren’t many of them. And he did it, because even in animations you can see the high quality. Every being strives to be useful. For example, you can use the jaw teeth to craft new and pretty cool items.
