There are not so many insects and arachnids in Minecraft when it comes to the vanilla game version, so modders have to invent different creatures to populate the Minecraft world and add something new to it. Global mods are periodically released, along with a huge amount of new content, but it is not that easy to learn. Small mods that add several mobs and items are a whole different story. And if you have been looking for such an add-on, you can install Insects and Arachnids. It belongs to the above category, but its developer has added only two mobs at the moment.

The game will now feature the mantis and monarch butterfly. The modder promises to add more diverse insects, but only these are present for now. They have unique textures, behavior patterns, and flight mechanics, and the Insects and Arachnids mod will also add the essence extraction function to Minecraft. Review of the Insects and Arachnids Mod

It should be noted from the outset that it is better to install the JEI mod to view the new recipes. In the future, the designer promises to add a help system so that anyone will quickly get hints and understand what to do next. After you install Insects and Arachnids, you will see two new mobs, or rather insects, in the game: mantises and monarch butterflies. The latter have all the growth stages, beginning with an ordinary cocoon and ending with a large insect with beautiful wings. It is not the most common approach to breeding creatures in Minecraft, but it still exists.

So, to get a butterfly in the game, you will need to craft a bug net. Their eggs appear on the trees, and you will need to approach one of them and break it. Once you break it, a small random caterpillar will appear. For now, it has only one variant, but the modder promises to add more variety in the future. Next, you place the caterpillar in a special block, which is also added by the Insects and Arachnids mod, and after about five minutes, it turns into a full-fledged butterfly with beautiful wings.

You should keep in mind, though, that the monarch butterfly will immediately try to fly away from you after maturation, so to catch it, you will need to use the above net. You can catch an unlimited number of insects. The butterflies fly slowly and gracefully, so if you need to catch them, it will not be a difficult task. The net can hold only one insect, though, so you will have to build some kind of structure or room to release butterflies there. You can also create a makeshift garden. We have already reviewed a special mod called AndyCat's Flowers, which adds a large number of new flower species to the game. They will perfectly complement such gardens with butterflies in Minecraft.

The mantis is another insect added by the mod, which can also be bred. However, if you wish, you can always resort to the JEI add-on featuring the spawn eggs. The main drawback of the Insects and Arachnids mod is the lack of these eggs both in survival and creative mode. But if you have JEI installed, you will be able to find such items and quickly spawn all the creatures. Interesting mechanics, right? The designer promises to add all the necessary crafting elements and hints in the future, but at the moment, there are none, and we have to be content with the available information.

The last new mob on the list is the Beemon. It is a small red bee, which is a kind of boss among all other insects, since after its spawn, a health bar appears on the screen, similar to that of dragons and other important Minecraft mobs. It is notable for its bright red shade and can boast a pleasant texture, but what it is for and what to do with it is unknown.
