With the Frozen Apocalypse mod, you’ll easily answer these questions. Since this mod will gradually remove your sun from the game. It won’t disappear immediately. It will happen step-by-step. The sun will move further and further away from your world from the very beginning of the game, which will eventually turn it into cold wastelands. This solution is very reasonable, as you’ll have some time for initial development. In addition to the newest mechanics, you’ll also get a lot of new crafting recipes -from tools to armor. For the mod to work, you’ll need to install the Fabric API.

The first days of survival

After appearing in the world, you’ll have as many as 9 days before the world freezes completely. You’ll need to prepare very quickly and promptly. The temperature of the world will drop day by day. The landscape will gradually freeze and be covered with snow. Survival will become much harder! When the critical day comes, all unadapted mobs will freeze and turn into pieces of ice. You’ll be left totally alone! Your first days will change like this:

· Day 0. A common day. There are no special changes. The most dangerous things await you in the future. You should prepare well.

· Day 1. Your sun is starting to leave the world. Some blocks of grass freeze. It’s getting rather scary.

· Day 2. The sun moves a little further away. More and more grass is freezing. Some mobs are getting slower. It’s time to prepare for the worst.

· Day 3. The sun has gone very far away. Now hostile mobs don’t burn in the sun. The water is turning into ice. The leaves of the trees are getting purulent. The process of freezing of the ground is accelerating.

· Day 4. All past effects are by times faster. The sun is almost invisible. Some mobs begin to die. Finding food is now harder!

· Day 5. The sun is almost invisible. All of the above-mentioned processes have significantly accelerated. Lava is turning into obsidian. Animals are dying even faster and more often. The leaves are gradually disappearing.

· Day 6. A rather important day among the first ones! Now, the monsters will spawn in daylight, which will make survival much harder! Your crops will be harder to plant, and the animals are almost extinct. You’ve almost run out of the ways of getting food. The ground is getting colder, and the seas and oceans have almost turned into ice pieces. Besides, snow begins to fall heavily.

· Day 7. You start to take damage from the cold. Urgently find clothes with warm tailoring, otherwise you’ll keep dying! The rest of the changes are also here.

· Day 8. The ground is getting very cold. You take higher damage. The leaves completely rot and disappear. All the freezing processes reach their peak speed. It’s extremely hard to survive.

· Day 9. The last day. After it, the entire world will be covered with snow. You take a lot of damage from the cold. All the seas and oceans have completely turned into ice. There are no animals or villagers left. All mobs have turned into their frozen versions. They spawn in great quantities. Be careful!

Mobs

Regular monsters couldn’t withstand this cold, so they had to adapt and evolve. Their skin has become much darker and colder, and their eyelashes are now covered with snow. They can spawn both during the day and at night. Their physical parameters haven’t changed. You’ll see modified versions of the following mobs:

· Snow Creeper. The texture remained the same. Only the color scheme changed. The mob now perfectly fits into the environment. Can explode like vanilla creeper. There are no special changes.

· Snow zombie. In addition to the evolved skin, the mob also has new clothes. They are now gray, significantly merging with the mob’s skin tone. It looks a little strange and unusual.

· Snow spider. At first glance, it seems that its texture hasn’t changed. But you’re wrong. Its main color has become rougher and darker, which makes it look a bit tough. No other differences from the vanilla version have been found.

· Snow Enderman. The last modified mob. The texture has changed very noticeably. Instead of black, you’ll get a gray and blue shades, which perfectly fit into the new world’s style. The change is quite interesting and colorful.

The above-described mobs are defined as new, but in fact they are a substitute for vanilla ones. So, there are no special differences but for textures. They also have their own summoning eggs.

Armor

To adapt to survival in the new world, you’ll first need to find a remedy for cold! And the best solution will be insulation of your existing armor. You can use leather to insulate all vanilla sets. However, if you fail to find it, and the animals in the world died, you can only look for leather in dungeons and in the chests in villages. The armor retains its vanilla style. It only gets leather insets in the form of shoulder pads and linings.
