Boatload – New boat types in Minecraft

The only way to move on water in Minecraft is boats, which can sometimes also be used to move quickly on ice in the vanilla version, since the speed is by times higher there. But this means of transport is somewhat outdated, and the Mojang developers added it in the first versions of the game, but you feel like trying something new, don’t you? The only variety the players have is crafting boats from different types of wood, which makes them differ in colors. That’s why our portal has prepared a detailed review of the Boatload mod, which adds new types of swimming equipment to Minecraft.

This is a completely new approach at vehicles for moving through water biomes. This mod allows you to put resources into boats, fire all the necessary materials and components in stoves, transport players or animals using longer types of boats. We’ve done our best to take as many screenshots as possible to show you which set of tools you’ll get after installing the mod.

The Boatload mod review

In total, the Boatload mod adds a few dozen different boats, which differ in different types of wood and colors. But there are only 4 unique and new types, although this is enough to diversify the game world.

Simple boats these mostly include standard vessels, which will differ only in color and material the items are crafted from. The vanilla game version lacked these shades, so the developer decided to add them.

Longer boat versions – the vehicles can transport more players, although they are often used to transport animals, such as sheep, cows, and some mobs. They are very convenient when you need to transport a few creatures, including civilians, from one location to another at once if you decide to set a new village or transfer a certain profession to another biome.

Boats with chests – can transfer the player with a chest behind. You can stack resources and move on the water with them. A convenient system that allows you to literally live in the sea, as in the «Waterworld» movie. They look cool; the interaction interface is the same as the common GUI of your character’s cells. Moreover, you can open the inventory while in a boat and move blocks or resources back and forth right away.

Boats with stoves – about the same type as the ones with chests, but here we have stoves for firing different blocks and resources. A convenient system that allows you to quickly get the necessary items or materials at any time, even while in the ocean. At the same time, while the process is underway, the player can keep moving around in the boat.

There are several dozens of boats of different colors available, and the crafting recipes will change only in terms of the wood used to craft this or another boat version in the game. The recipes are cheap, and you have almost all the resources you need for crafting at the start, no matter which biome you find yourself in after downloading another map or generating the world of Minecraft.

Important to know! If you break boats with chests or stoves, all the contents will fall out, and you’ll have to collect all the loot by hand. You can use the Luggage add-on for this, where the boxes run after the player and literally «suck in» all the resources. Don’t break the boats in the water, as the resources will simply scatter across the water biome, and you’ll have to collect them.

This system of boats allows you to quickly start the game by simply making several different types of boats. They help both in single-player mode and on Minecraft servers, so it’s recommended that project owners install this add-on to diversify players’ gameplay. The Boatload mod doesn’t significantly imbalance the game and perfectly complements it. From time to time, the developer releases new versions, fixes numerous bugs, and listens to the audience’s opinion. Now, you can download Boatload for Minecraft 1.19.2, with the Forge library used as a loader.
