PopularMMOs Modified Arena: A Wide Range of Arenas

A large number of different maps are created for Minecraft, among which there are various types of arenas where players can fight among themselves. The PvP mode is not particularly popular on usual maps, though, since the player has also to survive, fight other mobs, and look for various resource types. But multiplayer arenas are a whole different story, as they are one of the most important components of any project, capable of arousing players' interest.

This time, we suggest you consider using a map called PopularMMOs Modified Arena, which features several arenas. In fact, they are similar to each other but designed for different modes. As the designer claims, he has created some of the most interesting arenas taken from MMOs, where you can fight with each other and apply different weapon types, including with numerous modifications. You can play there both in singleplayer mode or make use of any of the ready-made structures on a server using Litematica or similar tools.

PopularMMOs Modified Arena: Overview of the Arenas

The map features quite standard arenas for Minecraft, where both several players or hundreds of users can participate at once when it comes to large-scale battles. By default, only one entrance is open, from where you can get to the arena proper. However, you can also break the back wall and make a second entrance. It will thus be possible for the teams to enter from both sides and immediately start a battle.

There are no seats for spectators there, though, and this is a big disadvantage of such structures. Indeed, during such competitions, there are always not only numerous participants but also onlookers who do not mind just staring at everything happening. But many of them can also become desirous of participating in battles, which adds even more interest to the latter.

On this map, one and the same arena can be in different locations. Thus, one arena stands simply in the middle of a field, and the other is located amidst mountains, which looks much more interesting. The latter option even allows one to improve the design and make places for the spectators. Fortunately, there are platforms where you can install seats or at least fences so that people do not fall down.

We have added a special screenshot on the map (which is installed using mods), where you can see the location of several arenas in approximately the same biome. They are not far from each other but are still located at different heights.

Materials Used

The arenas are basically made of wood of different colors, but a dark shade prevails. And this is somewhat of a drawback since on servers without appropriate settings (startup flags) enabled, such as prohibiting the spread of fire and lava, the entire building can simply burn down. Thus, while we were testing this map, two arenas began to burn, and after about 5 minutes, only 70% of them were left.

The floor looks like a chessboard and is also made of wood. In the center, there is a patterned stone brick platform and lamps. By the way, there is good lighting there thanks to the glowstone dust, and this is very appropriate for such structures. At the very least, hostile mobs will not enter the arena, killing players who are already taking damage from each other. There are also cool-looking towers behind the main wall, which add even more illumination to the entire structure.

In general, we can say that the arenas are quite interesting, convenient, and compact. This means you will not experience lag and FPS drops, as it happens on some huge maps with similar structures. In this case, the designer has tried to minimize the use of mechanisms and a large number of blocks. If one building is not enough for you, you can place several of them at a short distance from each other.

As for how exactly to arrange them, this is entirely up to you. But even on this map, you can see how the arena looks just in the field or, say, among the mountains, where you can add additional ascents, passages, and cool buildings. It is one of the options for conducting battles between players. It is great for both local battles, such as 1vs1, and large-scale or, at least, clan tournaments, which are also very popular among users.
